Most Likely META: Who Are Your Favorite MGoBloggers?

Submitted by LSAClassOf2000 on

JGB and I exchanged a few e-mails over the past few days about various OT (but also some META stuff) topics we could throw out there in lieu of the end of OT season (a mere 27 hours or so from now) and one that came up was this - who are your favorite MGoBloggers?

There are many people who post often, some who post left often, but many people contribute knowledge and insight which I think shows that this is indeed one of the most well-rounded fanbases out there. Indeed, this blog has unique resources as we have a fair number of regular contributors who were / are players and coaches at various levels and that makes this blog a place where I think you can indeed learn something new about your faovrite sports on most days. In my mind that already puts it at a level few other such blogs out there seem to reach consistently.

So, among those folks who contribute their experience, technical knowledge, humor, GIFs, etc...who stands out in your mind? Of course, such threads demand a certain amount of sarcastic wit, but that's what makes them entertaining.

You might see a few such threads like this tomorrow. As I mentioned in my diary the other day, now is your chance to get this out of your system, so your mods thought we would get some of it out of our system.

I remember the Ghost of...everything being douchey, perhaps because he was pissed off for being banned, probably rightfully so. But I usually like what LordGrantham posts now. Perhaps he's gone soft in his old age.

And it makes me feel nice. I feel like if I read that thread, I'll likely feel just as bad if not worse.

I'm like a Terrance Malick film, either you like me and think I'm smart, or you hate me and think I'm an arrogant ass that thinks I'm a lot smarter than I really am. No one thinks, "eh, he's alright."

FWIW, I respect what Malick does, think he films beautiful movies, but give me an entertaining plot for God's sake! You're movies are pretty pictures surrounding good ideas that don't come to fruition! So, eh, I guess he's alright.

smarter then the average bear...and brought the rare level headed POV and moderation to the many blogger style flame debates. The board could use a little more level headed feedback and moderation. what happened to him.

I suck at names, didn't think that transferred over to MGoBlog, but yeah. Thinking of a lot of avatar's right now.

For one, none of the mods, really no matter the praise they get, get their due. So guys like LSAClassof2000, the poster formerly known as ProfitGoBlue, really all the mods, are among my favorites

I always appreciate Magnus, Reader71, Read your Guard, Steve S., Reshp1 (who just changed his avatar and that really confused me), WolvinLA, and many more that I think provide insight to the game and post good, objective content; even when I have another opinion I can always appreciate their POV.

Obviously there are a lot of the front page guys. Lots of the long time posters are great. Some I have names I can remember like alum96, LB, Raoul, ish.

And so now I've written this post, and at first I felt bad that I couldn't think of all the names (still haven't), but now I'm reading this post, and now I'm kind of feeling bad that I know this many "names" of people on a blog. Man, I need a life.

There are so many posters that I enjoy reading, and a few I don't enjoy.  In fact, where's the thread where we list the posters we can't stand?!  Bring out the torches and pitchforks!

I keed, I keed.  If I had to pick my favorite, it would have to be BiSB.  His posts always crack me up.

Cause obviously. How can I love anyone else as much? Sometimes she is out of line, but hey, that goes with the territory. My sweetheart, my avatar, and my downfall at mgoblog one fateful Saturday night several years ago.

Other than my namesake, well, I like so many for different reasons. the mods, the football knowledge guys (magnus, space coyote, steve sharik,) mgrowold (same generation,) Burtontower, WD (but really, you will need to get a life. I fondly remember the days of yore when I could be as obsessed as you.) There are many guys who have left the blog who I miss. Even some of the meltdown guys.

I have many favorites, most of whom have already been mentioned. But certainly at the top of my list would be jmblue. He hasn't been posting much lately. Hope he's back for the football season.
