Jesus, cheapest tickets for Michigan at Notre Dame game is $309 bucks.  I won't lie, I spent 200 for a ticket to last year's game, but that was also the greatest game i've ever seen live.

I have family plans to be in South Bend, but I'm certainly not spending 309 per ticket.  Screw that.

Gotcha, I used to be in the same boat, but now I'm looking to go to business school, so starting to think ahead.  I actually have tickets to the game in Dallas, but my buddy from LA is coming to the east coast that week, so I'm going to go to DC instead to hang with him and a few other friends.

I'm confused as to why its more remarkable. If we have more seats, less $$ for tickets to get to a certain revenue. I think that makes perfect sense and is QUITE unremarkable.

But in fairness, wouldn't it be just as or even more impressive that Ohio is at 227?  Their capacity is around 102,329 (by $227).  Same holds true for Alabama. ($205 by 101,821)

Stadium Capacity Ave. Price Revenue
Ohio 102329 227  $  23,228,683.00
Oklahoma 82112 207  $  16,997,184.00
Alabama 101821 205  $  20,873,305.00
Michigan 109901 185  $  20,331,685.00

I know these are second market prices, but the point still remains.

In the university's defense what the hell else are you gonna do in Nebraska? 262 dollars sounds perfectly reasonable to escape from the reality of a life lived in Nebraska if only for a few hours.

Take a look at the number of professional sports teams within an hour's drive of Ann Arbor and compare that to the number near Lincoln.  It's pretty remarkable that we continue to sell out year after year given the local competition.

It's not just Michigan though, depending on where you live you might be within a few hours drive of Chicago, too.  Not to mention that we have a second major college to compete with.

But yes, I would say that Michigan is a lot more fun-filled than Nebraska.

everything about michigan is better than nebraska except, obviously, MI's proximity to ohio.

I feel I'm a better human being for never having set foot in nebraska.

Interesting to note that the highest priced teams are most often located in areas without easy access to NFL teams.  I doubt many can afford to go to both a college and NFL game in a single weekend, driving down prices to some extent.

I know everyone has a different opinion, but I thought that game was great.  It was down to the wire, it had lots of great defense, and the most exciting things in sports are when expected events don't happen or unexpected ones do, and FGs are expected events, so when a team keeps missing them, it's excitement.
