Before you all get bend out of shape, just remember that everyone drives drunk and on a suspended license. You kill people, I kill people. You steal from me and I steal from you and get paid for jobs I never worked. Oh wait that might be a different school...
More trouble for Stonum
Sorry but he broke the rules. He was on a very very short leash already. If you break the rules you get punished and he's broken the rules countless times. This looks bad for the team and university. He should be held accountable for his actions.
If this were your son, would you want him essentially rewarded for ALMOST following all the rules/laws? I wouldn't.
Also it's a good thing this isn't anMSU or Ohio player because this would be full of 'he's gone' posts and pretty much no 'give him another chance.'
/that went longer than i thought
/coherent?still tired from drive back to M from NOLA
I have to assume Stonum's scheduled return was conditional: if you get a hangnail, you're gone. So, if that's the case, he has to get booted. He's had more than enough chances. And he's showing contempt for the rules. This ain't East Lansing.
Oh dear. Stonum does this the day after Arnett commits to MSU, allegedly because we didn't have a scholarship available? Damn.
This isn't just a probation violation. He's driving without a drivers license. That a pretty basic rule in our society.
Hoke was generous in giving Stonum a chance to take the time to get his life turned around and prove that he can follow basic rules. Stonum violated Hoke's trust and Hoke's only option is to send him packing.
Sadly, this is probably going to set a precedent for future transgressors. Hoke is going to be less likely to give a player the extra rope.
This is terrible because it's such a SMALL thing, and he's gone through 12 positive probation reviews?!
I mean, if he had done something major, then it's easy to say, but man...if you can work on the big stuff, why would you let the stupid stuff mess you up?!
Sorry to say, but I think he's probably gone.
You JUST CAN'T do these piddly-ass, civilian-acceptable mistakes and still play Michigan football.
Meh. Everyone makes a mistake here or there or there or there.
I guess Roundtree will really have to step up then. Who starts on the other side though? Gallon seems a litle too small to play on the outside. Is Jeremy Jackson good enough or do we see Justice Hayes start to play that sort of wildcard role that we thought he would play?. Like a Percy Harvin role.
Don't forget Jerald Robinson.
Okay with him coming back to the team. As long as he did'nt kill any hookers or drink and drive.
And to the self righteous crowd here that do drink and drive. It's only a matter of time.
Trollin so hard!!!
The problem is that he DID drink and drive - twice. He also lied to his probation officer about how he got to the appointment, AFTER he got pulled over on the way there (so he should have known the probation officer would find out about it).
He's had 2 DUIs and a prior probation violation (which involved leaving the state and failing to report on several occasisons). I don't care how minor the offense, he's out of chances.
You guys are fucking crazy. Yeah he was driving when he shouldn't have been, but his probation has been perfect thus far, even his officer said that. Let's find out why he was even stopped or where he was going that early in the morning. Some idiot fans hold the players to a higher standard than they even hold themselves - I think Brady Hoke knows that a mishap like this doesn't require any kind of drastic discipline.
From his probation appointment when he got stopped. He lied when asked how he got to the appointment. He said his girlfriend drove him. After he left, the police stopped him and found out he was suspended. They cited him but released him. With such a good reporting record and his commitment to his probation, he might get a pass. Don't know.
Hold me, Ace!!!
you are forgiven ..
How does a guy with no licence drive a car? Where did he get it? How stupid can this guy be. The team needs him for next year, but in my opinion, not enough. Goodbye Darryl.
Besides being having incredibly poor decision making skills he must be a terrible driver how do you get pulled over that many times anyway?
Who cares, get back on the field DS
Everyone knows that unicorns would never fart a rainbow. That's just ridiculous. Totally inappropriate comment on my part. I'm sorry.
