More Spike

As I drink more, and watch the gifs, I realize just how much I will miss Spike. Watching those passes and those incredible efforts to maintain or get possession of the ball, and scoring from impossible places, I cannot help but mourn the passage of a true joy. We are truly blessed to have had Spike in the fold. I look forward to hearing of his success in whatever his field of choice. He will be missed. Go Blue Michigan Man.

be fair, it was a very poor "she said" joke. That was the brilliance of Michael Scott, no misuse. It had to fit perfectly or it wasn't getting used. (And yes, that is indeed was she said).

I disagree entirely. The "that's what she said" joke needs three elements: something representing the penis (a "spike", in this case), something representing the vagina (the "folds" here), and insertion of one into the other ("Spike in the fold"). If the joke failed, it's because "spike" and "folds" were not clearly representative enough of 1. and 2., but I think they worked quite nicely. Maybe it was a bit loose, but everything fit in pretty well (that's what he said).

in a huge way for the rest of this season and quite a while going forward.  That little guy will go down in Michigan Sports History as one of the most beloved athletes of all time in any sport.

As I watch the first half 17 point performance I love him more, but I also think- anyone who wants to blame us losing that game because of Beilein's decisions at any point during the first half can fuck off.

I don't really want to get into this argument, but... I personally don't think there was much to adjust to in the first half. Now, if want to bring the second half into discussion, fine. But I didn't. I think the refs cost us 3 points in the first half. Don't want to talk about that? Cool. I think the combination of LeVert and Hardaway cost us the Hancock barrage. Want to blame LeVert being out there cuz coach wouldn't put Trey back in. That's cool. But all he had to do was make him drive instead of shoot simple. Good god I hate people like you.

is a 20/20 hindsight argument to be sure, but once we went up 11, the game had been cut in half. If we simply maintain and trade bucket for bucket, it is going to be very difficult for them to come back once we get to the ten minute mark. It wasn't the Hancock threes in a vacuum that cost us, it was our failure to answer and forced quick shot. The argument is there that if you bring Burke back we settle down and preserve what could have been a nearly insurmountable halftime lead.

This is bitter sweet and he's a legend regardless, but just imagine how much of a legend he'd be if we hadn't been robbed of the national championship in 2013.  His 17 pts off the bench will be remebered by Michigans fans for a long time either way but had we won...oh man.

Not that he was the best player but I loved his energy and passion for the game.  Furthermore, he had some outstanding moments as a Wolverine.  We will always remember his scoring outburst in the first half of the NC game against Louisville.  He was one of the best under 6 foot players I've seen at the Division 1 level over the past 30 years.  He was a very good ball handler, rarely having a turnover, and was a very good passer and shooter.  He was the consumate team player.  it's a shame he wasn't able to finish this year but I will always think fondly of his playing days at UM.

pressers. I had no idea what kind of pain he played through last season. Spike said his whole life he was told he wasn't big enough or strong enough and that he was living his dream at Michigan. He also talked about what Beilein and Michigan have meant to his entire family. Beilein and Spike both talked about only one being left from that class. I get that Robinson, Mitch and Stauskas are all making money...I also get that all the money in the world will not buy them 2 more years of being a kid or (as Bo said) playing for a team again. Bittersweet.

My two favorite Michigan hoops players ever are Zack Novak and Spike. Today is a sad day, but I'm very thankful that I spent the last 3 and a half years watching this amazing kid play for Michigan.

Coach Albrecht has a nice ring to it.

Spike Albrecht - The only known human to be simultaneously respected by Bill Brasky and Chuck Norris.

Spike Albrecht - Saved the world from certain nuclear winter when he figured out how to divide by zero

Spike Albrecht - Born from the caves of Mordor as offspring of a half-hobbit, half-dwarf, and half-man.  Yep, that adds up to 1.5 of a person, and he doesn't give a fuck.

Spike Albrecht - He'd kill for a Nobel Peace Prize
