More reasons to love Ricardo

http://michigan.scout.com/2/946559.html I love this part... Question: What else do you have to say to Michigan fan as you get ready for spring ball? Ricardo Miller: “All I got to say is Michigan get ready. We’re definitely coming back in 2010. It is not going to be anything like the past two years. I've like the way this young man represents the University of Michigan. He will be as valuable to this team off the field as he will be on the field. Hopefully he can make good on the goals he has set for himself and the team

This is what the team really needs- not suggesting that there is a lack of it now- but we need not only athletic kids, we need kids buying into what richrod and his staff.

Mike Hart was Mike Hart, even as a freshman, comparing Miller to Hart is a bit premature, with no offense intended to Miller; Hart was a phenomenal football player, phenomenal person, and one of the best examples/representatives in Michigan history. Miller has the beginnings of being a Michigan great, but he has also yet to play a game. Either way, the future looks bright, which is always a nice feeling :) it's been hard to feel that way for the last 3 years (the 9-4 season included, since it was hard to feel optimistic about the future with everyone leaving).

The fact that he didn't beat Ohio State means he faced at least a million times more diversity than Miller has so far, and still managed to stay incredibly popular amongst Mich fans.

Yes, Mike Hart never beat OSU. Just him. He was the only one on the team. He is a terrible example for UM. He left in disgrace and we should all hope his goal of coming back to coach is never realized. They should take the number 20, run it through the mud and hang it in a port-a-john in Pioneer's parking lot on game days. You're a piss poor example of a UM fan - if you even are one.

Never beat OSU...none of those guys did. I love Mike Hart, Henne and Jake.Great players, great teams...but never won the big game. It still is the big game isn't it? We still care about the Michigan-OSU rivalry don't we? We're fine that we haven't beaten them? RR gets a pass if he never beats OSU as long as he's popular and wins every other game? When you think Michigan...you think OSU. These guys, no matter how successful or how popular they ever become can never say they beat OSU. They failed against our number one rival. I'm not criticizing them, I'm not blaming them. I'm just stating the facts. Relax before you get all defensive and realize that. Should Mike Hart ever come back and be coach at Michigan...that little tidbit that you guys are quick to brush aside will be brought up continuously. You listen to the old school, even guys like Spielman and they say it all matters on how you did against Michigan and vice versa. Ask those Buckeyes who played for Coop who never beat Michigan. Time to revisit the rivalry gentleman. It is not just another game.

Ok. Mike Hart never beat Ohio State. Neither did Jake Long, or Chad Henne, all three being Michigan greats. Yeah, that stat goes against them, but you have to be kidding me? Are you really saying that Mike Hart isn't a premiere example for Michigan football? Was he not an outstanding leader, putting the team on his shoulder when they needed him most? You need to spend less time with Chong, and get your head out of your ass.

has proven to be True Blue. He recruited hard as if he was a coach, left Florida to move to AA. This kid is serious. I look forward to seeing him on the field.

“All I got to say is Michigan get ready. We’re definitely coming back in 2010. It is not going to be anything like the past two years. We had a good run for those two years, but it is definitely going to be a better year this year.” You misquoted him. I don't get why he said the last two years were a good run.

I like hearing how confident these kids are coming in. I think we will see a lot of swagger out of this team this year, and I think it will be good for them. With all of the negative coverage, this team might be able to pull off the "us against the world" mentality. This team could end up being like the old Miami teams without the rap sheets, fatigues, or dancing.

I think he's just trying not to badmouth his new coach or his new teammates, who were part of those seasons. Nothing in the rest of the interview seems to indicate anything other than Ricardo Miller understands what Michigan football is about -- winning more games than anybody else. He is clearly "all in" to the extent that he's not even willing to admit we sucked in '08-09.

If he puts out as much on the field as he has off for the program, he is a natural candidate for the number 1 jersey. "Leaders and Best", Ricardo should wear that on his back.

He was great. A genuinely nice kid. I asked if he would let my son take his picture w/ him. He was genuinely surprised "a who me?"-type of reaction. My then 3yr old chickened out but Cardo was the only signature that we got that day and I was totally cool w/ that. P.S. For those who have kids - you have to take them to Fan Day. Totally worth every minute even if you don't wait in line for signatures. Bring your own football and play catch w/ you kid on the practice field = AWESOME
