More info on Michigan Football "Victors" Documentary series
The filmmakers were on with Sam and Ira this morning. Podcast should be up soon. The Gerald Ford/Willis Ward documentary mentioned yesterday here will be the first one, and they said a few more should be ready by Christmas. Topics will include Rick Leach, The 1969 team, Bob Ufer and the 1997 team. Here is the link to their site so you can follow the productions and release schedule.

During that interview, they mentioned Eric Champella. Back in the day, Champnella was working on a screenplay about the life of Bob Ufer.

Does anyone know what ever came of this, besides that it never got made? Would have been a great movie, but that's just in my totally unbiased opinion.

...about the infamous decision by Hayes to go for 2 during the 1968 Game (when asked about the decision after the game Woody said he did it because he couldn't go for 3).
The filmmakers said that they spoke to a former OSU player that told them the real story:
After the touchdown, Hayes was so excited that he punched the placekicker in the stomach while celebrating (somehow not shocking) and he couldn't go in to kick the XP.

Both option seem plausible. Hayes was either an arrogant jerk or a violent jerk. Both seem fitting.
