More disrespekt for the Spartans

Submitted by APBlue on

The Spartans continue to be disrepected by media types.  This time it's Tom Izzo who is the target.  This is pretty damn funny.  It's like ESPN is constantly trolling Sparty.

ESPN referring to him as "Tim Izzo".

There's also a nice write up in this article about some of the history of their disrepect.  It's worth a chuckle on a slow day.

Will think that it's far more disrespectful when nobody is talking about you. Like Michigan basketball. In which case they would be correct. As far as football goes, we all where the Big10 champ trophy resides. Should probably find a subject that UM can actually claim supremacy in when discussing such matters. Maybe try women's softball, or competitive eating or something. But stay away from football and basketball, UM is embarrassing at those sports.

You can buy your own major award, apparently, at redriderleglamps.com.

There's also a leg lamp at the Indiana State Historical museum (something like that; near the Indians ballfield). IIRC the author was from Indiana.

As we were walking to the beach, a guy walking past says: "Go Blue".  I wasn't wearing any M gear, so I looked behind me and see a Sparty couple sporting their Green.

So I ask politely: "Hey Sparty, did you drive down?"

"Yes" was the reply.

"How did you get past Middle Tennessee?" I asked.  There was no response.

It is getting to a point where you have to wonder if these spot typos are merely a tribute to the memorable athletic programs of.....of......*shuffles papers* Montana State University. Yes indeed, a memorable group of personnel and players.

In all seriousness though, I think we need to get the editors of online content at ESPN a small token of our esteem at some point.
