What if Woodson and Tom Brady were hired here as position coaches when they both retire? 

That would just be unfair.

17 Hall of Fame football players have gone on to coach NFL teams.

Jason Kidd, Patrick Roy and Wayne Gretzky come to mind recently in the NBA and NHL. Michael Jordan, Larry Bird and Steve Yzerman are current GM's.

It was limited to alums, but there was a thread a while back and the top college examples were Steve Spurrier, Jim Harbaugh and Pat Fitzgerald. Red Berenson would be another one with a successful pro career that ended up coaching his amla mater.

I like how he was announced as "Heisman Trophy Winner".  Not GB or Oakland NFL player, not SuperBowl champ, but Heisman Trophy Winner.
