the layoff before this game, 9:50 is an awfully long time to wait for the tip. That is going to be a long day for the fellas.

Well, I won't be getting a lot of sleep, but I'll take it over the dreaded "PLEASE DON'T TELL ME ABOUT THE GAME, I'M DVR'ING IT!" situation during the day.

Remember when the CBS Sports link would have the "Boss Button"?

You clicked on the button when the boss walked by, and a fake spreadsheet would pop up to make it look like you were doing real work instead of watching the tournament.

It’s going to tip off at 9pm CT at the earliest. How many games during the regular season tip off at 9pm local time? I would venture to guess that there are probably less than 10 throughout the entire season. I’d be fine with a 10ET tip if they were in the Mountain or Western time zone.

More regionals on the west coast? That would just make the problem we already have worse. There were two west coast regionals this year, and only 1 preferred seed that would prefer either spot. And this isn't a recent problem, every year there are significantly more top-end teams on the East coast than out west.
