Monday Afternoon Legal Meltdown: What are you drinking?
I'm in my office drinking coffee. I should be working on my dissertation defense, but I'm so tired I can barely stay awake at my desk. So lots and lots of coffee.
Oh how I long for the days when I could drink at 3:30 on a Monday. Enjoy these days while they last, kiddies.

There has been a lot of big news in the sports world this Monday. Tigs in first, Penn State, Fitz, Nash to NYR. A lot to take in, making for very, very little productivity today.
Luckily I will be downing some Natty Lights prior to beer league softball in a couple hours.
That excuse would be like when MSU fans would say Michigan only dominated MSU in the Lloyd years (and much before) because we had more talent than them. ...but I'm guessing you're just joking

But there will be a lot of beer at some point this evening. Got to work out and go down to my leasing office, then it's all fun and games from there. Yes, I have a very hard life during the summer.
Today has been terrible. I have a case of Yuengling Light waiting for me in the fridge. I will be drinking #alloftheYuenglings.

Worked a 12-hr overnight, got off at 7am, but it's so hot here I haven't been able to sleep. Now these two shitty situations pop up? I'll be spending quality time with Jack.

It's my birthday, which you would think is a good day--not so. It's Monday, I woke up sick, I have to work late, and now I am hearing about this sadness. This is my whining rant.
When it rains it pours. Things will get bette my man. They have to, because we're nearing the bottom (well, you are being sick and working late, etc. etc.)
I'm praying that this Dempster to ATL for Delgado trade goes through. Also hoping that Garza goes to the Dodgers for Lee. Could be a huge day for the Cubs looking 4 years down the line.

Edit: Though Capitol Avenue Club blog just put up an update saying this trade may have fallen through if it even was in the works in the first place.
According to Bob Nightengale of USA Today, they're simply waiting for Dempster's approval now. It should be straightforward as Dempster had mentioned the Dodgers and Braves as teams he was willing to go to. A complication may be his daughter's health.
Thanks for the heads-up. We will wait and find out I suppose. Randall has lots of upside I think. It's hard to tell sometimes with these young players. Some make it, some can't quite find it and don't pan out as well as expected. Delgado definitely has the tools to make it; again, it's wait and find out over the next few years. I'm still holding out hope he's a Brave by the end of the week!...

After the last several threads, I am seriously considering opening one of the Chateau Lafites (maybe the 1975) when I get home (I inherited a stash, some of which I do plan to bring to a tailgate this year, if anyone is interested). Between two meetings in 85-degree saunas downtown and the news about Fitz and Clark, it seems only fitting to break into the rainy day stash.

What a crazy day . . .
- PSU penalties go down,
- My copies of Hail to the Victors & t-shirt arrive,
- Fitz is arrested for drunk driving, and
- Clark is arrested for home invasion.
I am reminded that this game of football is just that: a game. Mistakes happen everywhere, including Michigan. No one is immune.
