Molk snubbed from AFCA All-American team

Wisco's Konz was named to the AFCA AA team over Molk, even though he missed the last 3 games of the season. Since there are 23409348 different All-American teams, David should still make most of them but since we won't see another Michigan football game for almost a month, this gives us something to rant about.

Big Ten players on the team:

OL Kevin Zeitler (Wisconsin)
C Peter Konz (Wisconsin)
RB Montee Ball (Wisconsin)
DL Jerel Worthy (Michigan State)
DL Whitney Mercilus (Illinois)
LB Lavonte David (Nebraska)

Also, WR Jordan White of Western Michigan is an All-American.]

I wonder if the success of Montee Ball impacted many of these voters, given the lack of solid criteria upon which to compare offensive lineman. If I had any say in it, Ball would be a lock for the Heisman and Richardson would be no higher than 4th.

center in the country, and if he goes pro, will be the first center picked.  I love Molk, but if he isn't picked, at least they got it right (and not Brewster, who's terrible).

I really do agree with most of the big ten players being all americans. I really love the way Montee Ball runs. They do a wonderful job coaching up the runningbacks and lineman over at Wisky. They consistently have smart, hard running, backs with excellent lines.

Gotta give credit where credit is due. Also, Lavonte David is a man beast, along with Mercilus.

as voted by the coaches, and the offensive lineman of the year.  In contrast, Konz was not even second team all Big 10 according to the coaches - he was relegated to honorable mention.  The media vote Konz 1st team all big 10 with Molk on the second team.

Is Worthy from MSU.  IMO, Worthy has the talent and ability to be there, but he didn't show that consistently game to game, down to down.  He often gets too high, he takes plays off, and he is selfish in his desire to get sacks (he gets at least 1-2 offsides called on him a game, which for a NT lining up over the ball is just stupid).  Like I said, he has the potential and skill, but he didn't show enough to me to be even on the first team in the Big Ten this year, and would be in a fight to be second team Big Ten if you only take 2 DTs per team (rather than just 4 d-line, but then again the Big Ten is stacked for DTs).

The second biggest snub, with all due respect to Luck who is a great player, but RG3.

Molk is a really good player, but in my opinion he isn't consensus best center in college football.  He is up there and is very good, but there is a group that he's with that I anticipate get rotated in and out depending on the All-American team.
