As a result of this, he should be named the Consensus All-American center. It is close between him and Konz, but that is determined by a point system which only takes the AP, AFCA, FWAA, TSN and WCFF teams. He was 1st team on FWAA, WCFF and AP so that well deserved honor should be his if my calculations are correct.

Does anyone else remember that after Molk's 1st year that the "GBMW Insiders" thought Molk was going to lose his job because his arms were too short and he wasn't athletic enough?

That was a good call.

Hell, I'll bet he doesn't start more than one more game before they replace him. Here is to the next one, may he live up to the expectations for the position.

I am truly going to miss him, I hope he has great success in the NFL, and yes, I do put little mental tick marks down when the experts fail in their predictions.

I loved his answer about filling his shoes. Of course, I've loved most of his answers to interview questions.

What an amazing guy.  For a kid who didn't come from a football family at all, all of these accolades are pretty remarkable.

For example, (for those who didn't watch the interview on The Wolverine), the first game of Molk's freshman season his dad, looking through the program said "Ah their (the opponents) center isn't that big, Dave should have an easy time against this guy."  Dave's girlfriend, sitting next to his father, says "Um, Mr. Molk, that's the offensive center.  Dave goes up against the defensive line."  Molk jokes about it but it's pretty inspiring that he and his father have such a connection, football notwithstanding.

With how involved kids parents are getting in recruiting and their football careers in general, The Molks' story is pretty refreshing.

Congratulations, big guy.
