Moderator Action Sticky 2015

What moderating looks like on the back end.

New season means new sticky, since these get cumbrously long.

What this thread is for: It's an ad-hoc way of tracking what threads and comments get removed. Mods that remove a thread should post the title here with a brief reason as to why the thread is gone.

NOTE: if you leave an irrelevant comment in this thread it will be deleted (see: "cumbrously long").

Before you look for your thread:
1. Was it offensive/political/off topic?
2. Did it link to Drew Sharp, something Mike Valenti said, or Ace Williams?
3. Is there another thread in the last few days on the board that addresses the same topic?

Hall of Stickies Past:
The first, the second, the third. the fourth.

Trying to compress the depression / bright side / introspection a bit here, so do not take offense if yours does not survive...

Yes, it hurts...a lot. BUT:

A lot of this is more or less covered in some threads that will remain for now.

Let's try to look at the bright side

The upside thread wins out for the moment.

Again, folks, no offense meant if yours doesn't stay.

The Return: John U Bacon

I am pretty sure the word "return" in the title of the book was more a cultural thing, with the understanding that the on-field results being not far behind it. That is to say, I think many of us in August were OK with 2015 being a transitional 8-4-ish year. Obviously, not excusing today, but I feel we should remember these things.

Some threads that are eerily like other threads we've allowed...

That which shall not be named!

No Drew Sharp.

Reality - get over it, move on

Let's try to cap the "perspective" threads a bit. No offense meant to the OP here.

The punt question...

Perspective: Mushroom Cloud, Offense

Again, I think we're good on these threads for now.

I lost the tab with the "What Do We Call This?" game, but that's gone, as well as this -

Second guessing coaching staff

Yeah....very little explanation needed there.

Dantonio's Hubris

This has been up and down a few times now.

Should Jabrill Peppers be moved to offense full time?

People have asked this in threads - the obvious answer is "no".

UM Playoff Scenario

There have been numerous threads discussing this and the BTCG over the last 36 hours or so. I believe we've established that this will not happen this year most likely.

Could it be that the Saprtan fan base is becoming just as bad or worse than the Ohio State fan base??

Why the MSU fanbase is not worse than OSU

No new info on common threads/older stories.

INTERESTING PERSPECTIVE ON THE MSU GAME

Yeah, as tired as people are of it, we will probably have to concede (because if not that person, then someone else, so you might as well leave one to contain the discussion) the odd thread for the next couple days (as in, one.....maybe two if someone actually has a truly new wrinkle on it), but it definitely will get to a point where:

OT: Kirk Cousins post game - "You like that?"

I think someone in this thread put it best - "Let's not be them".

Also, yeah, if I led the biggest comeback in team history, I'd be rather excited too.

If's and buts

We've had a couple "Wouldn't it be nice?" threads regarding Peppers and Heisman status in the last 24 hours.

UM vs OSU Noon Kickoff

Already a thread on this.

Today is Brady Hoke's birthday, Reply to send him your wishes..

The sentiment seems thoughtful enough until you read the OP's sole statement of "enjoy the Michigan money while you can", which sort of leads me to believe that the OP was expecting similar less-than-cordial responses. We're better than this, I believe.

Personal opinions of Hoke's time here aside, surely we can muster up a nice, civil "Happy Birthday".

Borderline at best and OP has a long history of poorly thought out threads. If you're interested in the better comments on this topic I'd recommend clicking on StephenRJKass' posting history the next time you see him comment, but that's just me.

every time some media person proposes Harbaugh for an open NFL job we don't need a thread, especially not in the first damn year.

I'm not sure where else would be the proper place to report this - I was sent to Bolivia a couple years back and eventually received all of my points back.  However, at a later date (not sure exactly when), I lost all of the points that were "refunded" even though I was not posting anything.  It seems like there may have been some error that only gave my points back for a short amount of time, almost like the reverse of sending me to Bolivia...

Thanks

MGoWeather

The posts usually come in the evening before the game, and as it is now up in the diary section per usual, we no longer need this thread wondering where MGoWeather is.

I feel like my edit in the first OP explains things pretty well.

If not, the good that will be gained with comments here will be less than the problems created. As I said in the original, that sucks. I still believe it to be true.

Usually don't leave a note for threads asking to be taken down but I had two thoughts I'd like to share (if anyone cares, although you are reading this so maybe you do).

  • M-Dog: Kind of like a coach trying to take wings off a player's helmet, amirite?
  • Looking at the title of the first thread, that's another reason we need informative thread titles. For this it should have been something like "Kalis without helmet stickers, any ideas?" or something similar. That's informative and would show in any relevent search.

Daelin Hayes on OSU Visit: Players Offered Six Figure Jobs Because of Opportunities Meyer Presented to Them

Yeah, as some mentioned in the thread, there's nothing wrong with using your university connections to get opportunities once you've graduated.
