Moderator Action Sticky 2015

What moderating looks like on the back end.

New season means new sticky, since these get cumbrously long.

What this thread is for: It's an ad-hoc way of tracking what threads and comments get removed. Mods that remove a thread should post the title here with a brief reason as to why the thread is gone.

NOTE: if you leave an irrelevant comment in this thread it will be deleted (see: "cumbrously long").

Before you look for your thread:
1. Was it offensive/political/off topic?
2. Did it link to Drew Sharp, something Mike Valenti said, or Ace Williams?
3. Is there another thread in the last few days on the board that addresses the same topic?

Hall of Stickies Past:
The first, the second, the third. the fourth.

words that we're not allowed to say here?  Something like the bit Carlin used to do?  That would be helpful for me, since I've unintentionally induced some serious butthurt in the past here.

Illinois fires Tim Beckman

Already on the front page. We don't miss much in the way of Big Ten news around here, although it probably felt awesome for Illinois to fire Beckman one more time for good measure.

Sorry to people who had posts deleted. This thread is utilitarian; it will get long enough this season without the extras, and I'd rather not have to load 100 unnecessary gifs every time we have to moderate something.

Depth Chart On Twitter

Although this one a smidge better visually, we will run with the now well-entrenched depth chart thread, now released for public consumption.

Some months back I had a few thousand positive MGoPoints and seemingly overnight it went to a few thousand negative. I'm pretty sure user down votes would not cause such a swift decline. It seemed it was a decision by the powers here.

My only guess is I was too pro-Brandon or pro-Hoke some time back. So, I had a different opinion. In retrospect, I love the changes made in regard to both.

What was the offense?

The FINAL FINAL Prediction Thread 2015

I laughed admittedly, but we do need to keep as much room as possible for other stuff - we'll let the effed predictions (as this thread was for preliminary redemption) stand for the time being.

Who is "Mike Burger"? (Endzone)

The whole point of not naming the guy is that he deserves some level of privacy here. Absolutely no need for open speculation on the board.

Judge rules against NFL. Brady eligible to play in week 1

Considering the centerpiece of the story, you had perhaps a 5 millisecond window to be the first one if you were considering posting this. Works that way sometimes.

Triple posted a thread(!) asking for tickets. Reset points to zero in hopes the user will be better aquainted with how the board works by the time he gets to 100 again.

I posted some comments on the most recent post-game article regarding Michigan vs. Utah. I noticed that my comments are invisible when I tried to view them in incognito mode. Censoring my comments because they aren't positive toward the Michigan coaching staff is wrong. It is unethical.

Here are the comments that are currently invisible. There is nothing wrong with them, and they are totally rational perspectives on what happened in the game.

"This was a far worse loss than last year. Last year, Michigan out-gained Utah. Last year, Michigan lost because we fielded 10 players on kick coverage.
But this year? This year, Michigan lost because our quarterback was totally incapable of executing the game plan. This year, Michigan lost because running backs refused to run threw the holes afforded to them, and instead opted to barrel into defensive linemen. This year, wide receivers blatantly dropped passes or ran incorrect routes.
This was a complete offensive debachle. Offennsively, the players were incapable of executing the gameplan from start to finish.
Defensively, we played soft 80% of the time. We tightened up in the red zone, most of the time, and that resulted in field goal attempts from Utah... ... Utah missed SEVERAL field goals in this game. That was a gift, after gift, after gift. When Utah made it in the endzone, it was ALWAYS a resutl of leniant coverages and passive pass rushes. Every time the defense made a stand, it was because the defensive playcalling was FINALLY aggressive enough.
So, in summary, the offense was incapable of executing on every level. The defense was crippled by the play-calling just enough to allow Utah to score a few times. The end. That's the summary. This is a 7-5 football team. I'm disguested. I'm absolutely disgueted."

"Read: If Rudock can throw accurately insteads of throwing 3 horrible interceptions and missing on 3 sure touchdowns.... ... ...
yeah...
EDIT: My hot take: 7-5. But this team, with this coaching staff, is capable of 10-2 (high-end). We lost, exclusively, because of Rudock. And Shane wasn't even afforded the opportunity to show what he can do. I have a serious problem with that, and you should too. Honest, healthy, and fair competition demands that Shane be given an opportunity when Rudock threw two interceptions and missed on two sure touchdowns, under absolutely zero pressure, in the first half alone. That's unacceptable.
Harbaugh is an elite coach which means he demands elite scrutiny. Shane should have been given an opportunity to start the second half. Rudock's first half was totally unacceptable, especially compared to Devin Gardner. Harbaugh preaches healthy, honest, and fair competition, and he totally abandoned those principles in this game. How's that for a hot take?"

The fact that these comments are being suppressed is, frankly, disgusting and unethical. There is nothing wrong with the analysis I'm providing to the forum.

Chances that Shane Morris starts week two?

I don't think this is going quite how the OP had hoped. Also, I didn't think people would panic about the QB situation quite this early and only after one data point. The chances of Morris starting right now are probably not worth writing home about.

Tom Brady for President: 2032

This one probably was not going to go much of anywhere, given early feedback. It's a fun thought exercise, I suppose, but let's just allow his NFL career to play out first, eh?

...was an obscure song by The Buggles, but it also refers to the following threads coming down:

You guys still hating on Rudock?

The irrational hating on Rudock is present, but we don't necessarily need to stoke that fire.

Taysom Hill out for season

We'll stick with the first thread now that it has been updated.

....also, "So long and thanks for all the fish!"

Everyone needs to calm down

I wish I knew what the problem was.

Everyone needs to panic and run around screaming

I laughed, but yeah, message understood - I was just letting the OP of the other thread take their knocks.

...that threads proclaiming that something is the worst are sometimes themselves the worst.

Semi-OT: Just a reminder that Adidas is the WORST

Can we just be happy that we are going to quietly phase something which many associate with Michigan's struggles out of our lives?

Pointing the fickle finger of fandom

As others mentioned, the posting volume of OSU-VaTech thread fails to take into consideration that - for Michigan / Utah - there was a 1700+ front page thread as well as about 1,400 further posts on the board between the two threads active for the game (one per half). If you consider the snowflakes alone from after the game, you can double that 1,400 just for postgame comments not counting threads which took "deeper dives" into various situations.

Impact of LTT suspension

Suspension...dismissed from team....everybody steals, steals from you, steals from me....

Yeah, there's already plenty of discussion on the board about the dismissal.

Video of why Tuley-Tillman was dismissed?

Let's not speculate on the reason until we get it - if we get it. I have severe doubts that a rap video by itself could be the deciding factor in this case.

Cleaning up some of the midnight shift stuff here:

OT: Classy move by the Spartans tonight.

Detailed coverage of Spartan things tends to go not so well on a Michigan blog, even if the timing of that thing is a head-scratcher.

Big 10 Goes 12-0 Today

Not worth salvaging this one. The OP's refusal to acknowledge the two Big Ten teams that lost yesterday (I know, the two that many aren't terribly fond of) created one long sidetrack.

1) this doesn't seem to be a sticky on the board aka I had to search for it to find it versus locked at the top
2) Rafi is either a troll or really a poor representative of the community. Either way unfunny and worth Caving
