Now that we in fact have Jim Harbaugh, we're going to do cleanup of Harbaugh threads because we can rest easy now and letting it go as sort of board party was probably not the best idea in retrospect. In any case, we're in the new era now, so let's go back to some of the normal strictures. Again, this is cleanup, so it has nothing to do with upvotes, downvotes or things like that - it's more about making a call on what could be a thread vs. what could probably be a comment in an existing thread, so no offense meant if your thread is on this list.
The most significant aspect of this hire?
Probably could be expressed as a comment in numerous existing threads.

I understand that merely being an asshole isn't enough for being caved, but when it gets to gratuitiously obnoxious and demeaning comments about recruits, that's too far IMHO.

Yeah, you might say the trip has begun. You can question the wisdom of a choice or speculate about a recruit's relative chances of starting (although I cannot imagine why based on no data) at a particular location, but you can't go the "moron" route.
I would think that someone who used an avatar of a character voiced by Sebastian Cabot for Disney would sound more considered, astute, even civil in their observations. Trying to imagine Cabot's voice and that line....it just didn't make sense.

Moved a special snowflake back to the roadside.
Guy wanted to discuss the threadworthiness of a topic with two threads and avg 200 replies in those. That's fine but the threadworthiness discussion doesn't need a third thread, so I pasted his comment into the last thread discussing the topic.
Regarding future moderation on this topic, I'd advise allowing one or two more threads in the coming weeks when important information about the case is made public, but that's it. Relevence is to the school, which is within off-topic boundaries for offseason.
