Moderator Action Sticky 2014

New season means new sticky, since these get cumbrously long.

What this thread is for: It's an ad-hoc way of tracking what threads and comments get removed. Mods that remove a thread should post the title here with a brief reason as to why the thread is gone.

NOTE: if you leave an irrelevant comment in this thread it will be deleted (see: "cumbrously long").

Before you look for your thread:
1. Was it offensive/political/off topic?
2. Did it link to Drew Sharp, something Mike Valenti said, or Ace Williams?
3. Is there another thread in the last few days on the board that addresses the same topic?

Hall of Stickies Past:
The first, the second, the third.

When your argument in 2015 centers around attendance changing in 2009 you should realize the bandwagon term has become less relevant over each of the last seven seasons.

OP going to the penalty box for a week because virtually every new thread from that account has been taken down recently.

Josh Langford Official Visit

It would stay were it not for a clarifying tweet from Evan Daniels that Langford is in fact up the road at Michigan State, so I went on the assumption that would temper interest considerably.

Per a request, some backend cleanup of OT threads that may be pushing it a bit (plus stuff that probably falls int othe "kiosk" category):

OT – Shaving!

OT: Sports Bar in Pinehurst, NC

OT(h) -(Oh the Humanity) Nickelback cancels North American Summer Tour

That last one because Nickelback, that's why.

OT - Opinions please

This one might be outside of even the offseason OT boundaries as asking for opinions on someone's singing seems like it crosses that "kiosk" line. Also, without the videos, it's impossible to give an opinion anyway.

I definitely understand taking that thread down.  There was a great post, though, that I was about to respond to in that thread.  The advice was to make sure there's balance in the kid's life and to encourage them to go into a STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) field.  Obviously if someone has a true passion for something else, they should be allowed to chase their dream, but just from experience, I have 3 kids, all college graduates, two in STEM and one in humanities.  Guess which one in underemployed.  I'm not saying everyone with a STEM degree is successful and everybody else struggles, but if you want the odds in your kid's favor, one way is to encourage any interest they have in STEM.

OT: State Rankings

The Thrillist article made its appearance over the weekend here. If Michigan is #1 on any list anywhere, even if it is just the state and not a program in Ann Arbor, you can bet it will also show up here.

Tom Herman Sells Out O$U to Bama

I just don't think "O$U" is the vibe we're going for when we talk about rivals here. Let's strive to be at least a bit more clever than that.

Rumeal or Denard?

I have a suspicion this one was probably not going to go much of anywhere - at least when it comes to actually being debated - and we do need to start some strategic cleanup today anyway.

OT: Judge sends 3 kids to jail for refusing to see or speak to father

Way too OT, and this will inevitably devolve.

Pandemic of stupid continues in Ohio

I have grave doubts that this one was going to go well for the OP. I think the overriding message here is that no one really cares - nor should they - if Braxton Miller believes himself to be the best athlete in college football.

Lol Rutgers

I don't think this is going to go quite the way the OP intended. I think BTN showing last year's game is less about Rutgers and more about what Michigan - even in a hobbled state - means to the Big Ten. If it had been an upset of a ranked, undefeated Michigan, it's probably a BTN Classic in the more conventional sense.

MSU Cotton Bowl Ring for sale

The OP is free to attempt this again, despite the late revision to it - just try not to be too reactionary if people aren't too thrilled about it. At this point, it would be difficult to salvage it because of how it was initially framed and because of the stance the OP took when criticized, which seems even stranger with the edits now.

You go off the blog to do a little GISHWES craziness and some podcasting....

Stadium wide Harbaugh chant prior to the Oregon State game

<Chant Discussion Disabled>

Yes, the chant discussion was disabled....rightfully so and by other MGoBloggers.

Football Tidbits

I'll admit that I was out to dinner when this went on and from the upvotes, it didn't seem like it was bad, but the original post has since been deleted (not sure why - again, at dinner) and I don't know that it should necessarily stay up without the context. If there's a good reason to put it back, let me know and we can talk.

ESPN Mag Cover, one hint....

You have to get up pretty early in the morning to not see the latest in Harbaugh-related coverage around these parts. This was covered a couple days ago when the cover art was revealed. Still peeved about the lack of Sharpie in the depiction.

The GoFundMe page just raised the goal to $5000. Something is shady about this. Not doubting Argus but I think he's relying on a friend and the friend may have fallen for a bunch of BS.

OT: Overrun with Redskins v. Lions Preseason Tickets (ALL GONE)

The OP is welcome to create another thread should more become available. For Michigan tickets, everyone should use TiqIq.

There's real football content now and this is stretching the bounds of OT regardless.

OT: Suck it Lions

Yeah, this is not going all that well and the rekindling of the Redskins team name debate that really drove it over the edge. That one was getting nasty.

...if this is the right place to put this, but there is some spammy code somewhere on the page that is creating some spontaneous redirects on my iOS devices to Game of War in the App Store.

Already posted. That said, I don't think any Ashley Madison news is productive for the board. There are plenty of places dissecting every last aspect of the hack, this doesn't need to be one of those places.

You are advised not to take the deletions personally - this is merely a baselining of content for the non-OT season. Moe to come tomorrow, assuming there are some stragglers.

OT - What Will Happen with the Tigers in 2016 and 17?

OT: Best Knee/Bone Doctor Nominations

Last Day of OT: What's your go-to joke?

OT - What new TV shows are you looking forward to watching?

OT: Time to Repent

Some early morning additions -

OT: Fantasy Sleepers

OT: What Underwear Do You Plan To Sport During the Utah Game?
