I had the tab open to do it and got distracted, sorry for the delay. He got warned/Bolivia'd in one of the earlier game threads and it looks like all he does is come on to talk trash about Morgan, which obviously isn't cool.

Handled now, though.

It's just like that one person who made an account for the sole purpose of trash talking JustinGoBlue's girlfriend.  Could be the same person.

That may be the case, but probably not a good idea to let the target of the abuse decide the punishment :)

Anyways, I'd like to advocate for the censure of that emueas_c90250235203 character (can't ever remember what his name is, nor do I care to). Doesn't add anything of value to the board, he's generally negative, offensive, and annoying, and spends most of his time trolling. There's a difference between a poster writing something particularly assinine on one occasion, and a repeated pattern of degrading the quality of the conversations here. This character is the latter.

The mods don't have access to individual readers' IP addresses. The only personal information they can get at is a reader's email address. 

I watched the first thread pretty closely and it was generally tame.  Mostly just comments about how he'll learn and people explaining how its possible to be a fan of one team and play for the other.  I was trigger-happy, waiting to delete obnoxious comments but I didn't see any, FWIW.

and its still doing this from my work PC, putting gray around the username of a commenter, and red around their photo.  It has stopped doing this on my home PC, where I use chrome.  at work I'm stuck using IE since we can't download chrome onto our PCs.  Is anyone else having this issue or it is something to do with my browser?

Also I find it funny that someone came through and neg-bombed the moderator thread.  I have no idea how my original comment is flamebait lol.

It's not up to me, but if it was anyone who puts this on the internet should be banned from the city of Ann Arbor.

eamus_caeruli: I will say it and don't care about the consequences...I don't want him here. I hope the seniors and staff make him feel very uncomfortable. I bet he doesn't last long, and better yet I hope he doesn't qualify. Perhaps there will be a mix up at the registars office, and he didn't actually get accepted.

Look, if you're going to downvote other people's threads, that's no problem and certainly your prerogative. But I have a very hard time taking your complaint about this seriously when you neg OPs that are not actually doing what you are complaining about, apparently out of revenge. If you want this to be a place of reason and discussion, try to do it positively. Not be negging threads without actually reading them.

And when people do neg your posts, demonstrate their foolishness by making persuasive, intelligent arguments to the contrary. Believe it or not, some people will notice the unfair negs and posbang you back. (FWIW I upvoted your negged response in the Stauskas thread because I felt it made a good point and that the downvotes were unfair, regardless of whether I agreed.)

EDIT: My response is critical, but your post is not invalid. I see that someone is chasing you around and negging you, so I upvoted you here, too. 

If you're complaining about getting negged, you're only going to get negged more going forward. It's a vicious cycle.  In Open Threads, people get negged for replying to old posts.  Something you seem to do quite a bit of when you're taking issue with people complaining about the refs.   It disrupts the flow of the thread.  When you click to refresh the thread it often goes to the first new post in the thread which may result in having to scroll for 30 seconds to get back down to the new comments.  This doesn't bother me, but it has come up before.

If you're complaining about the comments bitching about the players/refs/coaches then I'd think you're better off avoiding MGoBlog during games.  You'll never be able to stop that.  There's a reason the term MGoIdiot exists.  Those people come out the most in Open Threads and after losses.

• I really don't know what to tell you here. No, I wasn't present real time in the game thread, but I read this post before scrolling through it and I'm honestly confused by your post. Nearly 1,000 comments were posted, of which six made me uncomfortable to have on the board and two were deleted with nobody losing points or being caved. For a frustrating loss, posts breaking rules at a .2% clip seems to validate this not being MLive.

Being contrary about EVERYTHING under the guise of "objectivity." According to you we didn't lose because of the refs, coaching, or players. So that leaves heaping the whole blame on Levert or "magic." So your concerns fall a little flat.

Yeah, that was completely out of line. Nobody lost points for responses, although there were plenty that were nothing but blatant rulebreaking themselves.
