MNF: Who are you rooting for?

Submitted by aaamichfan on
So tonight's Monday Night Football matchup is Rams-49ers, which means everyone here will be drooling at the TV over a coach who isn't ever going to come here. With that being said, who are you rooting for? I'm sure many are rooting for the Rams, simply because the more games Harbaugh loses, the better the chance of him being fired. My guess? 49ers 31 Rams 17

I sat here wondering whether Harbaugh's decisions to go for it on fourh and short -- rather than kick a field goal -- was going to come back to bite him.

They could.  Arizona is quite legit this season and 49ers COULD come in 3rd in the division.  But then again that could be good enough for the 2nd wildcard with say 10-6.

Remaining schedule shows maybe 5 losable games.  Their whole season will be told in that brutal 5 game stretch to end the year - even the Chargers are looking like a threat.  But between now and Seattle the only team that will give them fits is Denver next week.

Ironically Jimbo may be competing with the DETROOOOOIT Lions for the last playoff spot - which almost certainly guarantees he gets in.

Here are the only teams that I see as any potential to be in playoffs this year barring a major turnaround.

South: Carolina

North: Lions, Packers, Bears (maybe)

East: Eagles, Cowboys

West: Cardinals, Seahawks, 49ers

So lets say Carolina, Green Bay, Eagles, Seahawks win division.  The wildcards are among Lions, Bears, Cowboys, Cardinals, 49ers.

RAMS.  Though they lost.  We need James Harbaugh to lose to maximize any likelihood he might consider Michigan.  His weird, controlling personality reminds me of Bo.  He would do well here.  I have little question.

I think that the logic of rooting for SF to lose so Harbaugh gets fired is the wrong logic to deliver him to AA.

Even if he gets fired, he is going to have no shortage of NFL opportunities if he is interested. The real issue for him coming to Michigan is his interest in the job. I think that if he wins a Super Bowl is is FAR more interested in leaving the NFL for a college job.  He is wildly competitive and his brother has a Super Bowl ring, his nemesis Pete Carroll has a Super Bowl ring. I think this is more important to him than getting fired from SF.
