As Martha Ford is the majority owner now, I am interested in theories on how this trade would go down actually. Grosse Pointe would lose a ton of tax revenue if you traded the whole family (as would Superior Township, if we're talking about William Clay Ford, Jr.), so I think we have to be careful here when making such a trade.

have any insight on who you think is better that is readily available either in the NFL right now or will be in the upcoming draft? In my opinion there isn't really anyone out there better than Stafford outside like the top 10-15 NFL qbs. Stafford might not be elite but he's is better than any other realistic option.

I have always kind of wanted to see Mike Vick throwing bombs to Calvin though lol.

I'm not a Stafford defender at all but shit, he's got zero shot to hit a pass when his Center and Right Tackle can't block for longer than 1 second.

just look at him at any time! He's just a spectator. He has that confused/lost 1,000 yard stare you do not want to see in your HC. Lombardi would be a HS coach if not for his last name, too.

The defense got better but the offense got much worse since the Caldwell hire. Stafford is the quintessential 'too good to get rid of but not good enough to win big with' QB. Yet, what Lombardi has done is just really bad so that's not helping. I'm not sure but I think it goes up to the Ford family. There has to be a reason why big names avoid taking the job even when we had a decent QB, Johnson, etc. HCs avoid Detroit and I've stopped caring why as in not a big NFL fan anyway.

The Lions have had two coaches who lead teams to Super Bowls as head coach.(Ross and Caldwell) They also had Steve Mariucci who was a respected HC at the time of the hire. The Lions have made efforts at hiring hot coordinators and proven commodities and still failed.

I do agree that the Fords are incompetent, but I also believe that they are earnestly trying to win. They just can't figure it out.

No they don't. They still are paying suh. Stafford's contract is back loaded and will go upwards of $20M + in 2016. They will most likely sign Stafford to a dumbass contract. Stafford will get yet another coach fired. They have zero pieces in place. They never will with the Fords as owners.
