Good win.  Gotta give NCState credit for hanging in there; the announcers were right, they could have folded so easily.  They certainly have the talent to be elite, but thier lack of chemistry showed early.  Conversely, youth showed at the end there when things went stagnet.  Hopefully they can learn and step on the throat against other good teams in the future.

If NC beats Indiana tonight, which is a possibility... and OSU beats Duke tomorrow, which is also a possibility, we could very well be the #1 team in the country come Monday.  How crazy would that be?

Tirico (or the color guy, not sure) made a good point. Seems like we went into a shell and tried to finish the game rather than just using our athleticism and continuing to play our game. Something that will probably be addressed.

need to hit FT's better in the end of a game and be more decisive on offense in the waning minutes.

But I'll take this win all day against an extremely long, lanky and athletic team that will be a tough out in the NCAA's, I don't want to see them again.

These games are important but not as important as March. Make progress every single day and we will be just fine.

Good to have these last three games.

Have to keep pushing.

Great win, especially in come March.  This N.C State team will be good.  How good depends on them.  They could underachieve and become a middling ACC team, make the tourney and fizzle or they could compete with Duke and UNC for the ACC title and become an Elite 8 team.  The latter scenario, again, would make this late Novemeber win even better come Tournament selection time.

We played 30-34 solid minutes vs. a very good opponent. We definitely have to finish better. I also thought the coaching staff struggled with the subs all game.

They went with Akunne WAAAY too early and he completely killed the momentum of Stauskas with two bad shots.

It also took them waay too long to go with two bigs. NCSU was killing us inside and we brought McGary in for Morgan...then Robinson picked up a cheap foul and we brought Morgan right back in for him and that was the lineup that broke the game open.

In the 2nd half we started okay then went back to GRIII against Leslie and he was getting abused. He's also lost confidence on the offensive end. Morgan - McGary - Stauskas/Vogrich - Hardaway - Burke was our best lineup all game.

I think we're starting to see guys really find their role...the one player I'm worried about is Robinson. When you look at his face, he just doesn't seem confident like he did early on...very hesistant with the basketball as well.

With that said, we needed this win...NC St. is going to get a lot better this year and this win is going to look very good come tournament time. Not that it will matter, I truly believe that unless we get a horrible draw *knock on wood* this is a Final Four team. Just too much talent, chemistry and waves of combinations we throw on the floor.

Going back to the roles:

Morgan --- Steady inside presence...experience...pick and roll, block/charge master...needs to get more consistant catching the ball cleanly down low

Robinson --- The X-Factor (going to have to really be a consistant force)...needs to build confidence and find role on team

Vorgrich --- Gritty (trying his hardest to be Novak/Douglass, which we need)...much better defensively...scrappy...role player and has done a great job in his role all season

Hardaway --- Obvious leader...keep doing what you've been doing! All-around threat.

Burke --- See Hardaway.

Stauskas --- Perfect coming off the bench but getting starters minutes...crazy scorer...needs to get MUCH better defensively before he can be a true starter (NC St. had a NUMBER of clean shots when Stauskas was guarding the man, they just missed them)

McGary --- Energy...Tyler Hansbrough 2.0...Needs to continue to just get better in all phases

Horford --- Raw, getting better...keep doing what you're doing

Albrecht --- Perfect role player and backup PG...perfect for chemistry...needs to see a few more minutes to calm and spare Burke

--------------------------Thats your rotation------------------------

Can't forget McLimans and Bielfeldt who both can give quality post minutes off the bench.

I think this is pretty spot on minus Robinson who I think has a role already and that's as a quiet 10/8 guy who plays solid D and can guard both 3s and 4s depending on whether the opponent goes big or small. With Trey and Timmay being the undisputed #1/#2 guys, Robinson is the athletic prototype to Canadian Bacon's pure shooter.

Although, I will say that one game Little Dog is going to go for something crazy like 25/10 in a big match-up and will soon be a fixture in the lottery on mock drafts in either 2013 or 2014.

Great game. They didn't execute well once it was time to kill the clock but that isn't surprising since that's more about execution than talent and we're young. That will improve.

On another note Indiana is terrifying. To think they are missing quality players who will be playing soon is scary.
