i'm getting alittle worried
it's a major award
i'm getting alittle worried
Okay, Canadian Bacon, this is getting ridiculous.
The Mountie!!! (maybe??)
MAN ON FIRE
Stauskas should start. He's unreal.
and from the weakside but the rest of this game, Michigan has looked amazing!
Stauskas for Heisman!
set by that kid from Grinnel last week?
No. Gotta share the ball.
i think Stauskas will start by middle of season
I think the only reason that he is not starting is to make our 2nd unit that much better. think james harden when he was at okc not starting but clearly being starter caliber.
I think Beilein is starting Vogrich just to give a nod to the senior. Starting lineups really don't matter as much in basketball, it's common to start a Senior over a Freshman early in the season just to respect the 4/5 years the senior has put in. Who Beilein plays to close the game tells more about what he thinks about his players than who he plays to start
Flawless thus far aside from the eso cameo...
Hey guys - I'm just tuning in. How's Stauskas doing?
Not particularly bad.
He's missed one 3 pointer. I have higher expectations for him at this point
Stauskas. Are you fucking kidding me? I've been saying, this player is closer to Glen Rice than any we've had since Rice won us a championship. For those that are too young to have seen Rice play for UM, this is what he did. Very similar. Killed it from outside, and by doing so, created space enough to drive to the basket and score/get fouled. Rice was taller, but that is the only real difference in their games. Stauskas is only a freshman? He'll be here at least three years because he is not the most atheltic player - which will hurt him on the next level. But this kid is going to (and already is) going to get serious national attention. Who is a better shooter in the country?
He's pretty damn athletic actually. Just wait til his first throwdown
I haz some lettuce too.
WUT? He missed?
loves calling these Michigan games.
seemed to push Stauskas' shot back out
Burke pressing a little maybe
Please, I want the focus on the game.
NC STATE is fighting
has been lethal thus far
I like High Post in the zone, all day
Letting 'em hang around....
way too lazy on D. giving up too many easy buckets. we should be running away with this game right now.
but as soon as we let off the gas NC State is right there
Trey Burke 4th best player on our team right now.
2/3. Robinson Jr. / Stauskas
4. Trey Burke
I think the year will end with Burke battleing Hardaway, but so far Burke justisn't in in sync and seems to be taking bad shots and pushing it when he shouldn't. Not sure why = can't figure it out. With that said, it's amazing that we have three players playing so well that they can overcome several fairly poor games in a row by Trey. This team is stacked.
Might need to get used to a new role of distributor more than scorer.
exactly. Which is good for the team and might be good for him long-term.
Definitely good for him long term as an NBA PG
He has 9 assists!!!!
Just can't quite seem to get it back. Still not a bad half
Coach is not going to be happy with the D this half. Offense looks unbelievably good, just an incredible amount of weapons with a NBA prospect running the show. Defense looks average to good. Same as last year. Need an eraser at the rim to force more low % outside looks.
Definitely need to tighten up the D, get some easy baskets and extend our lead.
Even men of the cloth are Michigan fans
Of course. God wears maize-n-blue.
we gotta keep pounding these guys.. looks like they came to fight
nice finish to the half
Up 7 at the half. I'll take it.
9 assists. Nice Burke
Exactly. If he wants to show off his NBA chops, that means more than points. NBA GMs know Burke can shoot and score. But if you're going to draft a 6'0" PG, you need to know he is a great distributor, not just good. Burke is looking like that this year.
I WAS WRONG
I just wrote above about Trey playing poorly - I didn't realize he had that many assists. WTH? That is incredilbe. That is what he hasn't been able to do well in earlier games. But if he can put up assists like this, he doesn't need to score in order for him to be a GREAT player. 9 assists in a college half is really incredible.
I feel that with this team, Burke should be dishing out about 10 assists per game - which is an incredibly high number for NBA, and even more rare in NCAA. But with these scorers - he should do it - that's what this team needs.
He's not playing poorly, but he took a couple of long range threes that made it look like he was pressing a little bit. Kid is awesome, dishing the ball well.... cut down some dribbling and take the points when the D gives it to you.
