Would rather they prepare for Florida and not Air Force. But brown knows what he is doing so go for it I guess.

They run tough offenses and it takes a lot of time to prepare for them. Love what it means it terms of supporting them, hate the unique style and how dangerous they are on the field. Ask Notre Dame. I'm glad they're implementing some things now for the guys to think about this summer. But yes, take care of UF first.

"...Greg Frey and Tim Drevno are earning their money right now."

I like what I'm reading about the offensive line. Having Frey on the staff this season is going to pay huge dividends.

Nick is a good guy but sometimes his analysis...I'm not so much with him. I rewatched the spring game and Peters had quite a few plays where he had to improvise including one where he ran for a touchdown. Speight just didn't look good at all throwing down the field...just like last year. Teams cheated on him with the secondary coking into the box because he just isn't a downfield threat. And still doesn't seem to be.

"Fans" like you are going to have to learn a thing or two about QB Play, or else its going to be a Long Season around here next Fall.

Its tough to play QB when your OG is getting run over every other play, and missing the assignment on the next.  Not easy to play QB when a DL is in your grill 2 steps in to your dropback.

Watch the FSU tape again.  Learn.

Don't go too far out on a limb! /s

Regardless of you repeating one trite truism or many such things, the reality is that even a "fan" like you or me can see that Peters has far more in the way of physical tools to play the postion of QB than does Speight.  So I am sure the coaches can see it if we can see it.

The question becomes then, does Speight's year of experience, and whatever edge he has mentally or leadership-wise trump Peters's superior ability and potential.  It could prove to be an interesting year at that position.

BTW---as I am sure you realize, in the scenario you paint, the QB with the greater speed (Peters) has the better chance of being effective, although I will say that Speight has an uncanny pocket sense for a fairly slow mover.

I have no actual knowledge but I recall D. Long went to Italy at the end of his senior year of high school. Perhaps he wasn't interested in a return trip so soon? I know that doen't make much sense in a vacuum (why pass up a free trip...anywhere?) but perhaps he had other priorities that took precedence.
