MJD arrested for assault...opens door for Denard?
Considering dictator Goddell and his no tolerance policy, does this open the door for Denard to possibly start?
From cops:"Jones-Drew hit security officer on the left side of his head, knocking him out. He left the area before law enforcement arrived."
Go Denard!!!
Congratulations to Denard? I guess.....
"5 feet and 6 inches, 240 lbs." - per witness.
That's fantastic.
Kids, just say no.. to Bleacher Report.
I'll wait for a non-Bleacher Report source to confirm before I feel mildly happy for Denard in an unfortunate sort of way. Don't like to see assaults happen, would like to see Denard, and expected to see Denard, get touches outside of something like this happening.
^THIS!
I am lucky I managed to nab this mgojob before brian realized you're out there. Every time you post I'm like...I couldn't have said that better. DAMMIT WHY CAN'T I SAY THAT BETTER?
(there is absolutely no sarcasm in that)
I want Denard to do well as much as the next person, but I don't want to cheer something like this. In fact, I'm fairly sure I've read a couple of comments from MJD that were very complimentary of Denard.
This is at least not Bleacher Report...

No charges filed at this point, but it is still under investigation
Wouldnt he benefit from a year of casually going in and out as a swiss army return, wild cat option rather than take the full force of his first year in the NFL?
RBs in particular have a very short shelf life. The best case for Denard maxmizing his pro contracts is to blow up in Year 4 right before he becomes a free agent. We all want to see him do well but gradual inclusion in the offense is the best way to go.
Tebow didn't do anything bad like throw other QBs under the bus (which he could have easily done in NYC with Sanchez being dreadful). I don't believe Tebow is an NFL QB but he led the 2011 Broncos to multiple wins and a playoff win against the Steelers. I think he's gotten a raw deal considering his resume.
I don't think you understand the concept.
But seriously, Denard would not survive past week 3 as a starting NFL running back. That's not a knock on his abilities, but he's just not built to take that kind of beating. If they ever expect Denard to carry the rock 20-25 times a game, they're nuts.
Denard needs more time to develop at RB and get used to the speed and physicality of an NFL game. If MJD is suspended this will get him some more playing time but we don't want him getting thrown right into the fire as a starter too soon. Have there been any updates on Denard's nerve problems since the draft? Last I saw his hand/arm was in a wrap.
A couple weeks back there was a post about him taking snaps at quarterback during practice.
Bleacher report never lets the facts get in the way of a good story
