the just released schedules were a flat-out statement that the B10 doesn't believe SOS will matter in playoff selection

Not trying to be a downer... But if the kid doesn't know for sure yet, why is he rushing the announcement?.. He's got plenty of time.
I just want to see him pick the best place, and obviously I hope it's AA, but if he's not ready yet, it's okay to wait a bit.
I guess on the flip side though the outside pressures and the chance of missing out on a spot (at Duke) could be too much.
He also talked about his parents getting hammered by questions and coaches.
So, I guess I don't truly understand the pressure, but I hope he's 100 percent on the school he picks.
Michigan Stadium UTL 9/10/11 -- Greatest moment of my sports life.
he totally knows where he's going.
There is no time, sir, at which ties do not matter.
he knows where he is going, he is enjoying the limelight
I think if he's got an announcement show set for tomorrow then he's already decided. It's like Lebron, he may claim he woke up and decided, but in reality knew for some time what was going on
If you're doing nothing, how do you know when you're finished?
If you read all the way down to the bottom, he really lets everyone know how stressful the whole recruitment and decision have been on him and his family, so that could be one reason he is committing tomorrow, to be done with it. Just a thought. Let's not act like the kid is lying when he says he doesn't know for sure where he is going yet. Obviously we all want him to come here, but we shall see.

“Mitch, please come to Michigan man. We’ve been playing together for years in AAU and we’ve combined to do big things on that level. ... We’ve got a great academic reputation, of course, and we’ve got some of the best looking girls in the country. Everything that you want and need is here at Michigan.”
Hey, that's entirely true, as long as you insert the word "literate" between "looking" and "girls".
that by choosing Michigan he can have Brady Hoke point at him all year round !!!
Go Blue!
No place on earth I'd rather be on a football Saturday than Michigan Stadium !
I understand Wisconsin makes the B1G look slow, but UofM pushes the tempo, especially after a miss. Morgan and Horford both run the floor well and are agile. Morgan got rewarded many times for hustling down the floor. mcGary could do that and more.
I was listening to WTKA yesterday afternoon and they said that Mitch asked the schools to give him some space so he could make the decision. He wanted last weekend to be free of recruiters. Only one of the three schools did what he wanted. Michigan.
From that, Michigan is probably pretty comfortable with where they are, and are at least showing that if a recruit says "back off" that they listen. It's nice to start a player-coach relationship when you know your coach listens to you. Go Blue Mitch!!
I have 2 opinions on this: 1. of course he knowns where he is going. I don't see this kid setting a live tv announcement without already knowing where he will spend his college career at. 2. Now, lets say he really is unsure of his decision... I am certain that if this is the case, then you will see this announcemennt canceled. I don't see this to be the case. HE KNOWS FOLKS!!! My only concerns are these reports all saying its Mee-she-gan. Can this be Duke cronnies attempting to upset this kid? i don't think so but it is Duke and i don't trust them. My guess is he comes here do to proximity to home and the chance to be a legend in restoaring the Bball program. GOBLUE young man!
So, if this guy does indeed sign with us, we could possibly have the #1 recruiting class in both football and basketball???
I mean football its not a huge surprise but, wow, 3 years ago we went 3-9, and basketball was in a 10 year drought of NCAA tourney appearances.
Things are looking up!
GO BLUE!
UM 2001-2005
Arizona has the top spot locked up, and NC State just got a commit from their 2nd 5 star to go along with another top 60 kid. Kentucky will likely finish ahead of Michigan (it's Calipari), and UCLA will as well if they get Muhammad. I'd put Indiana's class above Michigan's, and there's a really interesting UM/MSU argument if MSU gets Gary Harris (Michigan would have like #3, #35, and #75 while MSU would have like #15, and 3 guys in the 80-100 range).
The biggest thing holding Michigan's class back is numbers. Most of the top classes will have 4, 5, or, in the case of St. Johns last year, 8 kids in them. For a 3 person class though, Michigan's class is outstanding, and is better than, say, Duke's 3 man Kyrie Irving class was 2 years ago.

1.) His best friend, GRIII, is coming.
2.) He's been recruited by UM the longest. Here's his quote from last December, given to Dylan at umhoops.com "IU, Purdue, Marquette, Ole Miss, Oregon State, Miami (FL), Cincinnati, Xavier, Dayton and Ball State. [are recruiting me]"
a.) So, Coach B really got there early. Well done Coach.
USC sucks, but man I love SoCal!
Does anyone know why the basketball team goes after recruits that went to prep school, while the football team rarely goes after those recruits.
Greetings from Bolivia.

about our basketball commits after we get them, I believe this is the first time I've actually known about the recruitment of a player before he announced where he's going. Totally different from football in this regard.
C'mon, McGary. We need you more than DOOOOOOOOOOOK does.

Isn't that more an issue of the difficulty of finding big men who CAN run the floor, as opposed to a strategic decision by the coach? It seems to me if you asked any Big Ten head coach if he wanted his big men to run the floor more, he'd say "of course!" Beilein, I'm pretty sure, has told McGary he can run the floor as much as he wants when he gets here!
Even after reading Mitch's comments, I like where we stand right now. His comment about Duke's big men is spot on and I would think should play very significantly in his decision.
Only one decision to make big guy: Go Blue on Thursday!
