Good job Mitch!
Wonder why GR3 didn't make parade?
Lucky enough to have my own JT wristband!!
This will be one of the greatest bball classes without a doubt. Can't wait to see them in action!
the AD and asked about season tix. Ryan told me demand is very high for season tix. He said that half way up in the upper bowl
will be season tixs.
The future is bright.

Quite a large number of low-profile schools (CMU {!}, GWU, Long Beach St., Boston U., Florida Atlantic, UTEP) in that list.
Also, if you're a Hawkeye/Cyclone fan, it must hurt to see the Yankees of college basketball (UNC) come in and steal someone (Paige) from your backyard.
"500 channels and nothing but cats."
It's tough for schools like that to keep the elite ones. Raef Lafrentz, Kirk Hinrich, and Nick Collison were all Iowa Mr. Basketballs that went to Kansas. Harrison Barnes is from Iowa too. They've lost a couple top instaters to Wisconsin recently as well.
I dont really think UNC "stole" him from Iowa. Do people from Iowa really expect their best players to play for Iowa or Iowa St over schools like a UNC or Kentucky? Harrison Barnes is from Ames, Iowa, literally in the backyard of Iowa St. I dont think anyone would expected the #1 recruit in the nation to stay and play for Iowa St when UNC and Duke are calling your name.
THOSE WHO STAY WILL BE CHAMPIONS
for what I am sure was a disapointing year for Mitch. Not his fault just didn't get the touches on that team.
21 years of coaching and every senior who stayed had at least 1 big ten title... That is what " Those who stay will be champions" will really get you Ohio native Bo Schembechler.
Why did it take so long for this team to be recognized? Didn't basketball season end in March?
That this class is not a consensus top 10 class...
Reporter: “Did you visit the Parthenon while in Greece?”
Shaquille O’Neill: “I can’t really remember the names of all the clubs we went to.”
But...but....but he dropped in the rankings.

Adolphus Washington is an athletic freak. 5 Star DE recruit, and now a basketball Parade All-American. Does anyone know if he has any intentions of playing basketball at OSU?
Practice makes perfect. Unless you're the Buckeyes. Then you have to cheat.

yet there are some surprising omissions and some questionable entries. Further evidence on why I put such little stock in awards that are voted on.

Madison Ristovski coming to play for the women's team is also a parade all american!
Wonder why we don't. Would be a awesome rivalry. You Guys are going to have a top 10 team next year. ND should be top 20.
It's a strange list: 40 players for one "All-American team." I'm happy for all of the kids who get to tell their friends and families that they are Parade All-Americans, but 40 a year sorta waters it down.
Nice honor for Mitch McGary. Just hope he can duplicate what Trey Burke accomplished last season after earning Parade All-American honors.
Hate to rain on Parade Magazine, but they weren't very good at predicting the top freshmen basketball players for last season. Of the 16 members of the NCAA All-Freshman Team for the 2011-12 season, only six were Parade All Americans in 2011. Austin Rivers, Brad Beal and Anthony Davis made Parade’s First Team; Trey Burke and Cody Zeller made Parade’s Second Team, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist made Parade’s Fourth Team in 2011. A .375 average may be Hall of Fame territory in Major League Baseball, but it isn't a great shooting percentage in basketball.
Here’s the 2011-12 All-Freshman Team (Parade All-Americans in italics): Brad Beal, Florida; Trey Burke, Michigan; Anthony Collins, South Florida; Anthony Davis, Kentucky; Moe Harkless, St. John's; Damion Lee, Drexel; Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Kentucky; Tony Mitchell, North Texas; Kevin Pangos, Gonzaga; Otto Porter, Georgetown; Austin Rivers, Duke; Jarnell Stokes, Tennessee; Ricky Tarrant, Tulane; Aaron White, Iowa; Tony Wroten, Washington; Cody Zeller, Indiana

Was just about to post this. Thanks. http://www.parade.com/news/all-america/2012/basketball-team.html?index=4
I got the shotgun. You got the briefcase. It's all in the game though, right?
