Mitch McGary named #1 center in college basketball by Sporting News.
Mitch McGary named #1 C in College B-Ball
A more descriptive title would be much better.
But i will say it now and you will probably see it another 50 times. The title sucks!
I, for one, enjoyed the temporary suspense. Thank you.
Did OP change it? Cuz it looks good now...
I didn't see it but based on these comments I'm going to guess it was something along the lines of "fuck yeah Mitch mother fuckin McGary, bitches"
C'mon man! Why isn't this topic about Tigers baseball or cars?!?!
I vote for Beast McAwesome.
Threads with titles like these are like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're going to get when you open it...
get our comments further away from the title thread. I actually laugh out loud at these kind of comment replies!
Isn't MM supposed to be playing power forward this year?
Please change title to "MM named #1 returning center who will be playing power forward this year".
If we want to get snippy, it would be "MM, who will be playing power forward this year, named #1 returning center."
Unless, of course, Montrezl Harrall, Willie Cauley-Stein, and the other players on that list are also moving to power forward this year.
/BOOM grammar policed
Here's the actual writeup from Sporting News - (HERE).
They gave Mitch McGary an awesome compliment too:
"He has shown great command of every important tool: shooting, passing, scoring in the post, even handling the ball when necessary. He is an insatiable rebounder. He holds his position defensively and blocks the occasional shot. And he plays freaking hard. "
Runner-up in their listing is Montrezl Harrell from Louisville, followed by Willie Cauley-Stein at Kentucky.
Tell my kid that everytime he suits up to play LAX. Means put your cup on and play like Mitch!
Work on those free throws, Mitch, and there's no doubt in my mind that you will be.
I see a lot of double- doubles coming for Mitch. Took Mitch a minute to get into playing shape but as long as he continues to grind he could be an All- American this year.
First thing on the Christmas list is a McGary jersey. Would've had one last year if they sold them
this year.We will be fine--more multidimensional with Burke gone.
Burke comment before you end up in Bolivia. Just saying.
It's pretty self explanitory. Last year the offense ran exclusively through Burke. This year, without the best court general in the college game at the helm any longer, we're going to have to be more creative and flexible to get our points. More multi-dimensional is what we are going to be by necessity, but by no means implies our offense will be better. The guy's comment was more obvious fact than a controversial, neg-worthy blanket statement.
Because with Burke we a) were not one dimensional, and b) were extremely successful. If your PG averages ~19 points and ~7 assists, he's clearly not a one dimensional player
What's so wrong with the thread? Is it really such a problem to spend 3 seconds and click on the link?
...Len and Zeller are gone and that kid with the hypenated named hasn't played a possession at UK.
How MM responds to being more of a "go to" guy. My guess is pretty well; we might have surprised people at the start of the tourney, but by the end I don't thikn he was being overlooked anymore. Would be great to see how having an inside presence will help our shooters, and vice-versa.
I think the game slowed down for him quite a bit late in the season moreso than it was a matter of sneaking up on people. He's going to be a force on the boards for us and is great at swiping away entry passes and throwing outlets down the floor... also a good passer for a big man. I think that if he is able to add anything in the way of post moves during the offseason and can improve as an on-ball defender, he will be an unstoppable force against the majoriy of teams we play. I think he's already had it click for him to the point where if the opposition doesn't have enough size to match up, it's going to be awfully hard to beat us.
