Mitch McGary Celebration Drinking Thread

Submitted by JimLahey on

As promised three months ago, here is your Jim Lahey Shit-tastic Mitch McGary celebratory drinking thread. People like to say that one player can't change a program...and they're stupid.

I'm drinking whiskey with a splash of Costco brand carbonated water. Tastes like sweet, sweet victory.

I plan on getting drunk and passing out at 9:30 so I have plenty of sleep for early class tomorrow.

I can, but I hate to.  TERRIBLE hangovers the next day.  Seriously, this one time I went to Vegas and drank some whiskey alot allll night and woke up and realized I stole a cop car, my friend was missing, and there was a chicken and a tiger in my premium hotel room, so we went and bought a steak for the tiger instead of just feeding it the chicken.  It was nutz.  Oh, and there was a baby in the closet.  So crazy.

But really, over did on the 7&7s in the dorms and no longer care for whiskey much.

I agree.  Novak especially, as a rock-solid team leader, has been the lynch-pin of Michigan's revival.  From coming up big in the program-defining win over Duke to the leadership aneurysm against MSU to (I hear) playing an important roll in McGary's recruitment, Novak has been one of the defining players of the Beilein era.  He won't get his jersey retired or make many of the history books, but people who've followed the team in these years will never forget him.

OK, not really. I'm just jealous that you are drinking and I'm not because I work the M-F, 8:30-5:00 shift.

Tomorrow, however, I will be drinking wine with my dinner party and Saturday, the beer will be pouring.

was extremely tempted to break open my 1999 bottle of Dom tonight to celebrate this joyous occassion, but thought my wife would not take kindly to me drinking it since we're trying to save it for our 10 yr anniversary...guess it's just a Big K Cola for me.

I would kill for a Guinness right now, unfortunately I'm too lazy to get to the store to pick up some. Looks like all I can do now is overdose on leftover Halloween candy.
