I see that Minor was invited to the combine. I hope does well, he deserves a good break. Does anyone know anything of his status/health?? He was beat up pretty good at the end of the season, I don't remember if he had any surgeries or how much time he has had to get ready. If he has had time to train, I think he'll surprise some people. I know Warren went back home to train and Graham has been with Barwis, hopefully Brandon's had time with Barwis as well. 5th rd to the Lions sounds good to me.
Minor to Combine
I don't know how much work he can do with Barwis, but I'm pretty sure I've seen him on campus a few times this semester. I really hope he can find a place on an NFL roster, but goodness his injuries have to be a red flag for teams. Maybe free agency.
Minor's probably looking at a free agent try-out. His combine performance is just setting him for teams to get in a line to sign him after the draft. Granted, if he pulls a Mamula at the combine, I think you probably could see him in the 5th/6th rd.
do we want him to suffer anymore?
He's going to run a 3.9 40 yard dash.
I vote 7 FAKES out of 5... :p
with the combine being laser timed it would be a zero out of five fakes. Just like the times that are posted from Scout and Rivals combine events.
What is Minor going to combine with? I don't get it.
He was good alone, but he was always injured.
Combining Minor with something or someone else would help, I suppose.
+1 at life, sir.
has been doing some advanced research and they have rebuilt him at a cost of 6 million. Minor will now be able to run a sub 3.9 40, break the bench press record with one arm, and have amazing vision allowing for spectacular cutbacks. This will propel him to the top of the draft and teams will be trying to trade up to get him.
Parcells will create a package the Rams can't refuse and Miami will add wings to their helmet.
NFL running back but vision and durability are going to be his downfalls. If he can put up good numbers in the 40 and shuttles and then really knock them dead in the interviews then he has a chance of being drafted.
if he remembers to pack along his ANGRY.
he has GREAT vision
see tackler = run him over.
a 6th or 7th round pick. I mean most of those picks don't make it anyways. He has proven he has talent and runs with a purpose, he just can't stay healthy.
GMs generally like those late-round picks to excel on special teams. I'm not sure how good RAGE is in punt coverage...
MINOR IS MAJOR!!!111!!
I'll always remember Brad Nessler screaming that during Wisky '08
Wanted to use that as my UM game I wished I was at but the Cap 1 Bowl edged it out by a slim margin.
The other quote I remember from that game was going into halftime: "To call the Michigan offense inept would be an insult to inept offenses everywhere."
Still can't believe we pulled that one out.
get drafted in 2nd/3rd round but he has durability issues which would drop him into 6th/7th round range. He has a good blend of size/speed/power that most NFL team would like to have in a RB.
hell he will probably hurt himself getting dressed to go to the combine..
He'll have an awesome combine and get projected highly, only to get hurt stepping out of the shower the day before the draft.
If he's been invited to the Combine some people in the NFL, etc believe that he will get drafted. I believe that they only invite players to the combine that have a chance of getting drafted. With that said, he does have the size and ability to play in the NFL, but just as everyone can see, does he have the durability?
before this I would have bet that he would have been an undrafted free agent.
But now maybe he can be a 6th or 7th round pick, a nice showing at the combine and he could be drafted.
since teams will be able to interview him and find out exactly how banged up he was last year. The negative is that his most impressive running skill (trucking fools), will not be on display.
will land him in the free agent pool, but then he gets to choose a team with a better chance of cracking a lineup. Good luck!
If not in the draft, definitely as a free agent. When healthy (a big when) the guy is an absolute beast.
I really wish him the best, but man, with the talent he has, it leaves you wondering "what if?" What if he had been healthy last season?
I think the other big issue for him getting drafted late or free agency is his attitude/what he'll demand in a contact. If he's willing to sign a smaller contract and play a support role he's a very attractive second or third string back. Hand him over to the training staff for a year and see what they can do with him. Potentially if they can fix these injury issues you have a a first string back, or if they can get him at least somewhat durable, you have a good second string/change of pace guy.
If he feels like his talent entitles him to a major payday, then GMs won't touch him.
As of right now I don't think he will get drafted but if he blows it up at the combine like others have done in the past he could get a shot in the middle rounds.
