I think most of us are just sad that we don't have a good team this year after a whole offseason of anticipation.
Minny @ Michigan Game Thread
Of course, we're all disappointed that we aren't bulldozing through opponents like Ohio is doing. But c'mon. You have to admit the negativity gets a little extreme
I think this is the real factor here. However, it's been a lot longer than an offseason that we've been a looking forward to having a good team, again.
We won 11 games and a BCS bowl two years ago. Are you incapable of enjoying anything?
2 of 4 on O, with 1 start on our 1 isn't bad at all.
First time here?
This is one of the few reasonable thoughts here. This team isn't really playing that poorly. Some good to build on definitely
Listed among best pop rendition from a college marching band.
Sorry couldn't start a separate post
No one is that happy right now, but if the defense can tighten up a bit and we can score a couple more times, win 28-7, 31-7, something like that... after the last two games, it's not that bad. Trying to talk myself into a more positive attitude I guess. Minny has nothing else to throw at us offensively, so the potential is there to do something along those lines I think.
This team is terrible. They shouldn't win 5 games. It's Minnesota for Christ sake. I'm tired if the wow factor with Blurred lines playing 3 times in a row mixes with a team that can't get a first down.
Dude. Take a step back and breathe. It'll be alright. Maybe you need to just sign off MGo, turn the TV off and take a walk.
Real fans dont "quit". Real fans survived the Rich Rod era rooting for their team every single week because its all about the team. Real fans cheered on the team just as much during the 11-2 season as they did during the 8-5 season. Real fans dont quit on their team, ever.
Troll of the year award.
I haven't missed a home game in 10 years and I'm writing this as the band is playing Hawaiian War Chant, my absolute favorite. But damn, this team is not good. It's the first time I've wanted to leave a game early. Maybe I didn't drink enough, but this is hard to get through
I have all my remotes aligned perfectly for the 2nd half
wants to bleed the clock and prevent Michigan from possessing the ball for any length of time. Their hope is they keep the game close and they hang around to where something good might happen. So with teams like that, you want to score quickly and kill their will.
So, coming out for the second half, Michigan is a must-score situation to take control of this game. The problem with the defense is not making plays on the quarterback. They have converted every short yardage situation.
Here's what I don't get, MSU attacks the LOS all day long. If you beat them, you beat them. Minnesota can't pass. Why aren't we daring them to pass every play. I know they are having the safeties creeping up. But I watch MSU's defenders, and they attack the offense; they are totally agressive at the point of attack and every gap.Michigan not so much.
Agreed. If you have superior athletes let them show their talents. Hopefully, the odds would be in our favor.
Yeah, I see that to. In general, predictability is Borges' biggest flaw. It's a terrible flaw for an OC.
Some of you are unbelievable. I can think of more descriptive words but id like to keep the curse count to a minimum since I know LSA is tracking that sorta thing these days
With all the negative talk about our performance, but I don't get the hate for this team. Have we horribly underachieved? Of course, but, like a certain bball team last spring, we are talented. Hopefully we keep reeking out wins and improve fast enough as the schedule gets tough fast in a few weeks.
Here's the thing: have we been Alabama? No. Are we 4-0 despite playing WELL below expectations? Yes. Sorry, but until we lose, I won't say we've underachieved. In fact, if winning ugly is underachieving, then I'll take 10 more games of "underachieving." Then I can enjoy my undeserved NCG trophy.
We are kinda agreeing here
Think about it like this - Minnesota is way better than UConn and Akron. We're doing okay... Just give us more than 5 possessions! 2 went for TDs and one was cut short by the zebras.
don't think so.
The only difference between Minnesota and UConn is Minnesota's better at scheduling winnable games. UNLV, New Mexico St, Western Illinois, San Jose St.
This Minnesota team is not going to win any of its Big Ten games, unless they win today.
Well.... Central won today, so..... There we go.

If we can march and score a TD, then maybe Minnesota has to start opening up a little bit. I am not thrilled with the performance in the first half, but we are ahead and have the ball to start. The first drive of the game was just what the doctor ordered, and hopefully we can pick it up a little in the second stanza. Let's go blue!
This site is acting up. Can't post a photo
their seems to be an agenda outside of winning that has to be accomplished so everyone can point to a goal achieved, and say, 'yeah, we did what we set out to do, now we are that team on offense.''
And so today's lesson is,.let's prove we can run the ball with our new Oline. How about this: just take advantage of the defense and then go about proviing whatever internal point needs to be made for team benefit.
Here's the other thing that drives me crazy about Michigan: Why don't special teams matter? I mean is it bad to try make teams pay on special teams? Is simple competency the only goal? Is using it as a weapon a bad thing.
Wile has punted great and kicked not so great. OK. But can we try and block punts kicked out of the endzone. Can we go for it with less than a yard near midfield out of punt formation if not on 4th down. Force Minnesota to execute. All they want to do is run clock.
I think we score 21 this half. Minny scores 10, but the TD comes during garbage time.
Now that I have calmed down and stopped being a dick here are some thoughts:
1. Minny had 115 yds and had the ball for almost 20 minutes.
2. We scored on 2 of 4 possessions.
3. Minny started their best QB today not the guy that started at Iowa.
4. The Kill incident might have given them a little juice.
5. We get the ball first and if we score we can begin to control the game.
Great perspective sir, kudos.
Fuck these announcers. Can you just be neutral for once?
Go for the ankles
My lord. Are those blue?
Gray and ugly.
A 2 possession lead would be good for my heart
You guys were right, these announcers are acting like Minny homers. Not so upset about my sound going out earlier now that I have to listen to them
What's up with the LHS sticker on the back of Michigan's helmet?
Of the son of one of the grad assistants who died last week.
Thanks for the info. I missed the beginning of the game coaching my sons team of 3-4. Graders. Thoughts and prayers to the grad assistant and his family.
And blocked no one.
