I would say you are absolutely correct and that this is not a good development for us.  However, I have developed the belief of the past two years that Maryland is overrated and that they will eventually be exposed either in the tourney or the regular season.  They also do not look enitrely cohesive to me and I don't think they are particularly well coached.  I don't know if we are catching them after a flukish loss or whether we are catching them during a notable fall.  So, I believe that we could be in seriously trouble on Sunday, but I think there is also the chance that Maryland is just not all that great and we will give them all they can handle.

what I am saying is that I think it is just as likely that Maryland may just be a team that is precisely good enough to lose to Michigan rather convincingly and lose to Minnesota and that this may not just be a blip where they can "turn the switch on" just like that on Sunday.  The prevailing thought process is that Maryland is going to be "mad" on Sunday and play like themselves again and what I am saying is that this loss may represent who they are rather than just how the played.

You really, REALLY need to give up writing. Your second post was total shit even for this board.

Maryland was going to mollywhop us on Sunday anyway, but this will only add fuel to the fire. Mark my words, Sunday will not be a good day for this program. I hate to say this, but some of the guys are going to be exposed, in front of a national audience.

We're not out of the B1G race yet.

If MD, Iowa and Wisconsin all play like they have the last 24 hours against us.......

You never know.

Should we somehow finish 4-0--unlikely but not as impossible as it feels for a team that lives by the three and could shoot its way to a couple of upsets--we'd have a decent chance of winning a share of the B1G.

In that scenario, we would knock Iowa down to 4 losses and Maryland down to our 5.  Plus, the Maryland @ Indiana & Indiana @Iowa games guarantee to hang two more losses on those above us. Further, Purdue plays Indiana at home and Maryland on the road & Wisconsin visits Iowa.

I've always disliked him for some--purely basketball related--reason.  Never again. That may have been the most genuine, heartfelt interview I've ever seen.  It reminds one of the commitment college athletes make and the burden they bear when things don't go right.  Our sense of disappointment and anger seem downright silly in comparison.

Really could have used that Diamond Stone suspension against us.  Ugh, he'll be back and I'm sure Melo will somehow turn his game around becasue he was not good tonight.

Give credit to Minnesota...they've been playing tough lately.  Took Iowa to the wire Sunday.  Now they weren't exactly lighting it up in the second half but they kept themselves in it on the defensive end stifling Maryland not named Sulamon.

Just got home from the game. Maryland played like absolute crap. Not in sync at all. Turgeon did nothing to help his team tonight. Tremble was not into it. Soulemon (how ever you spell it) and Carter were the only ones going all out all game.
That said, seeing the all around athleticism on both teams made me sad as a Wolverine fan. And yes, my boy and I wore our Michigan shirts to the game.

This made me more angry than any Michigan game all year. So many reasons this is terrible for Michigan even before I get to the fact that I really like Maryland. And of course Wisconsin can't play basketball either.

Falling apart?  They're one game out of first place.  Penn St. Just beat Iowa.  We beat Purdue.  Nebraska beat Sparty.

Shit happens.  I think Maryland will be fine, especially considering their stud big-man wasn't even playing tonight.

A couple inches here or there and that can be a huge difference in the game. The very best teams regularly lose to mediocre teams because of the variability.

Maryland will still be a good win for us. It just may not be the Elite win that we were expecting.

will be a solid win, but I think people are looking to deeply into RPI/Ken Pom top 50 etc. and really not looking at some of the less advanced metrics that the committee really focusses on n the big picture.  I don't think we are on the bubble as much as others do.  If we finish 10-8 in the conference and 20-12 overall I think we are in if we don't lose in the first round of the BIG tourney.  If we did lose the first round game of the BTT then it would probably get dicey.
