My daughter is a grad student at BG, and since that institution has some of my money, I'm rooting for them.

I always root for Midwest schools in their bowl games outside of Sparty, Ohio, and ND.

if Tate would have stuck with it we could be seeing him in this game for SJSU. Would have been interested to see how he would have done elsewhere.
December 27th, 2012 at 4:36 PM ^
We would have probably been watching him hold a clipboard or sulking on the sidelines. Fales is good.

Are there more MAC teams in bowls than Big Ten teams? It sure seems like it. Before long, people might be saying there are too many bowl games.
December 27th, 2012 at 3:25 PM ^
I believe there are the same number of teams in bowls for both the MAC and Big Ten. I think it's 7 teams for both conferences.
December 27th, 2012 at 4:22 PM ^
With OSU and PSU ineligible, the Big Ten pool shrunk. Also, if the MAC goes 1-4, I can't see them getting a lot of teams into bowls on a regular basis.

I think the only reason I would turn this game on is to see just how many empty seats there are.
December 27th, 2012 at 3:48 PM ^
cause it's football and I'm a fan of the MAC. There are tons of seats open though. RFK doesn't exactly provide the best of facilities and having a team all the way from San Jose doesn't help either. It makes you wonder how some of these bowls survive when very few attend

I watch these bowl games and enjoy the MAC for the same reasons you and ChopBlock do. Don't understand why people complain about these games - it'll all be over in a matter of days. I'll watch every game I can
And the MAC is generally well coached and plays tough. It's good football
December 27th, 2012 at 4:18 PM ^
I count 7 occupied seats. You do the math.

I like MACtion. It's football, it's on at odd times of the week when you're randomly craving a football game, and Brent Musberger is never calling the games.

I have WatchESPN running on the iPad as I close out the workday here. This game has managed to make the last hour a little more entertaining in an otherwise dead office, if nothing else.
That being said, I did like the somewhat frustrated posture of the Bowling Green KR before the second attempt at a kick, hands out and looking at the sideline - it seemed to say, "Are we doing this now? We're good this time?"

Stokes with the end around!

I went to the BGSU-Kent St. game in 2010. When you're used to Michigan Stadium, attending a game at a comparatively tiny facility like Doyt Perry is sort of strange. It's like a really large high school stadium. I went to a WMU game at Waldo back in the '70s, and the experience was similar.

Chris Gallon on BG is Jeremy's cousin

Punter for San Jose hurts himeself after arguing with the ref and threw his helmet down, now going to get x-rays on chest. I love punters!

Although, I am listening to it using TuneIn Radio on my iPhone while at my office, so perhaps it would be more exciting if I were watching it.

my bowl pool is slowly dying.

Always bet on Mac!

I would like to see the MAC win some bowl games, but at the same time it is always nice to see a team like SJSU go for their best season in school history. Whoever wins, this has actually been a pretty good game.
December 27th, 2012 at 5:15 PM ^
For some reason, it makes total sense that someone named Benwikere would block the punt of someone named Schmiedebusch. Nice safety by SJSU.

BGSU fumbles to SJSU w/ 4:22 left on own~25 down 22-20.
BGSU is my team of the hour.
SJSU takes it down to the 3. Review of non-fumble by Eena Leenaeena upcoming.
Burgermeister Meisterburger to review.
UPDATE: Non-fumble call stands w/o indisputable evidence. ~3 min left.
December 27th, 2012 at 6:24 PM ^
proves to be the correct (albeit non-game changing) call, as the 1 point that put SJSU up 19-13 turned into a two-score, 29-20 lead late in the 4th w/ BGSU having possession.
(BGSU turned the ball over on downs, but in regards to the extra point decision, the call to take the one point prevented the possibility of BGSU having the ball down only one score.)
