Why does Northrop Grumman sponsor this game? Have they lowered their prices on Apache Helicopters?
BTW: Just watched both Wall Streets. You, Gordo, are a slimey thief.
December 29th, 2010 at 12:59 PM ^
...attended a sporting event in the DMV.
December 29th, 2010 at 1:02 PM ^
Not unless you count my driver's test.
December 29th, 2010 at 1:09 PM ^
...(District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia), we defense contractor types spend an awful lot on advertising and promotions at sporting events. Akin to the frequency of auto industry ads in Detroit (historically anyhow).
December 29th, 2010 at 1:12 PM ^
I know. I was just pullin your rope. I have not been to a sporting event in DMV. Who is the target audience for your/NG's advertising? I have always wondered.
December 29th, 2010 at 1:22 PM ^
Why you pullin another dudes rope?
December 29th, 2010 at 1:25 PM ^
I am a perpetual rope holder.
December 29th, 2010 at 1:38 PM ^
Makes sense
December 29th, 2010 at 1:29 PM ^
...congressional staff, DoD executives, DoD employees, other contractors, and the American public in general. The big guys: Boeing, Lockheed Martin, General Dynamics, Raytheon, Northrop Grumman, etc. all want people to believe that their products are indispensable.
December 29th, 2010 at 1:28 PM ^
Can you just imagine the gifts for the players? A bag of joints, a Mamas and Papas CD, a copy of Thoreau's "Civil Disobedience", and a tie dyed peace symbol tee shirt.
December 29th, 2010 at 1:32 PM ^
That was the Insight Bowl...Stanzi turned down the prizes though...damn hippies.
December 29th, 2010 at 1:14 PM ^
There are a lot of people who will see a commercial and think, "self, I'd like to call my Congressman and recommend an increase in discretionary military aircraft purchases."
December 29th, 2010 at 1:27 PM ^
"As much as I wanted to be Gordon Gekko, I'll always be Bud Fox."

I read a post on MGoBlog yesterday that RR was going to be the coach for The Terps. I'm at work and can't watch the game. Is he on the sideline?
December 29th, 2010 at 1:07 PM ^
Harbaugh is the DC.
Brady Hoke is the head coach.
Dee Hart is the starting RB.
December 29th, 2010 at 1:13 PM ^
Wow... looks like it's Les Miles in 2011.
Email Herbie.
December 29th, 2010 at 3:27 PM ^
Matt Millen will be taking over at AD.
December 29th, 2010 at 4:29 PM ^
Now you're just being plain silly.

December 29th, 2010 at 1:08 PM ^
Yeah, they installed a spread option for the game and forced all of the upperclassmen on defense to transfer or quit football altogether. They're clapping before the snap...I thought I'd suppressed those memories.
December 29th, 2010 at 1:21 PM ^
I can tell we're PUMPED for bowl season now since we have an open thread well before this killer tilt begins. LOL, I love it. I'll be killing the final hours of the workday tracking this game.
I took ECU +8 as well as a prop on their QB Dominque Davis Over 3.5 TD passes/INTs
EDIT: Changed the post. I actually got ECU at +8. Either way, not looking good right now
December 29th, 2010 at 1:30 PM ^
Shouldn't one if the academies be playing? That would be sort of logical...
December 29th, 2010 at 1:48 PM ^
Armed Forces bowl, so that one worked out.
December 29th, 2010 at 2:50 PM ^
There acutally are (token?) military academy tie ins for this bowl. From Wikipedia: "The bowl game features teams from the Atlantic Coast Conference and Conference USA, unless one of the conferences does not have enough teams bowl eligible, in which case Army is eligible to send a team if the Armed Forces Bowl does not select them first."

who cares about Maryland v. ECU without a little gambling involved??
ECU has a worse defense than ours (worst in the nation in fact), and Maryland's O is pretty good. Throw in the fact that Maryland's LB corps is great, and I like Maryland comfortably.
Maryland -7 and Maryland total points over 39

December 29th, 2010 at 1:52 PM ^
Rich Rodriguez will be coaching Maryland by the 3rd Quarter.
December 29th, 2010 at 2:02 PM ^
My inside source tells me 2nd quarter.
December 29th, 2010 at 4:31 PM ^
my cousin is banging Rich Rod's house maid and she told him that Rich Rod won't make it there until at least halftime.
December 29th, 2010 at 2:17 PM ^
Denard will be starting the 2nd half...he is so fast that he transfered and sat out a year. He followed RR.
December 29th, 2010 at 2:32 PM ^
PAM WARD
December 29th, 2010 at 2:32 PM ^
Have 27 posts before it even kicks off??
December 29th, 2010 at 2:36 PM ^
Amatuers dude, amatuers.
December 29th, 2010 at 4:32 PM ^
No one is doing anything productive at work today.
December 29th, 2010 at 2:32 PM ^
I'm just going to mute my tv. Pam Ward is a man.
December 29th, 2010 at 2:35 PM ^
It is not my intention to sound sexist, but am I the only one who finds it almost unbearable to watch a game with a female commentator? It's almost as torturesome as listening to Matt Millen.
December 29th, 2010 at 2:43 PM ^
Pam Ward will make this unwatchable.
The INT on the first play not such a good sign either.
EDIT: ECU gives it right back on a failed 4th and 1 run.
December 29th, 2010 at 2:47 PM ^
Hard to watch, even without sound, knowing Pam Ward is involved.
December 29th, 2010 at 2:37 PM ^
Well that was an ominous beginning...I got 17 confidence points Maryland...don't do this to me. I had to resort to drinking last night. Its too early to do that again.
December 29th, 2010 at 2:44 PM ^
Military Industrial Complex Bowl? This vaguely rankles me, e.g. this bowl and its sponsor seem to symbolize means of destruction rather than any sort of patriotic purpose, but I am tuning in anyway.
December 29th, 2010 at 2:48 PM ^
6-0 XP blocked.
Was going to make a snarky comment on Pam Ward's comment:
"Lineback, perfect name for a linebacker." Way to go Pam
December 29th, 2010 at 2:49 PM ^
Impressive throw from the MD QB, got hit in the face right as he threw. Receiver just outruns the safety/cb to the endzone.
ECU blocks the PAT.
December 29th, 2010 at 2:57 PM ^
Well, I need Davis to throw 4 picks/TDs combined to win a prop bet
There's 1, midway through the first.
Nice
December 29th, 2010 at 3:03 PM ^
At the bottom of the screen. I'm trying to black it out.
December 29th, 2010 at 3:07 PM ^
Anyone find something wrong with the, "BIG HOT PASTRAMI!!!" commercials?
December 29th, 2010 at 3:10 PM ^
Yikes.
December 29th, 2010 at 3:11 PM ^
ECU has like 5 penalties and 2 turnovers in the first quarter.
Sounds like they were made aware that I bet on them. Its good that they were updated.
Good grief
