MSU now has the #1 class in 2016. Good thing the game is on!

Miles Bridges on MSU commit Cassius Winston: “When he committed, then I basically switched over to Michigan State from Kentucky,”

Winston is a 4 year player.  Langford is a 2 year player.  I did not want to see them get Bridges, he's the real deal, can shoot, can drive, and is a freak atrhlete.

They think they lead for Josh Jackson too.  WTF?

They're going to be tough.

from 4 of the top 39 on Espn100 and they are in the mix for Southfield-born and #3 overall player Josh Jackson. That would be one of the top recruiting classes of all-time...on paper anyway

I don't understand.  The common narrative for college basketball being that the good players are there to go pro.  If this is truly the case, John Beilein has a much better recent resume for this than Izzo does.  Even making some kids pros and high draft picks that otherwise wouldn't have been.  On the other hand, Izzo has examples of blue-chippers turned underperformers draft-wise.  Why then, would Beilein not be raking in the top recruits?

Most high four star or low five star players want to play for an elite program and win -- going pro is kind of a hope more than an expectation. Those are the guys that Izzo has signed for the most part. Izzo has never landed the one-and-done type, except for the streak in the late 90s / early 00s when he won the NCG.

This class will be the first one that Izzo has landed with multiple truly elite players in a long time. That sucks for Michigan and it's frustrating. Beilein will have Michigan competitive for the forseeable future but there was a point in time where even MSU fans were worried that Michigan might become the preeminent CBB program in the state. This class sets us back in that respect, and if they produce the results they SHOULD produce, it'll be impossibly difficult to overcome.

They've got a hell of a class. There's no way around that. I was afraid of this happening when Michigan gave up on Winston, but the coaches obviously know things that I don't.

Sam Webb nails another one! People were touting his "Flint sources" on this topic a few weeks ago.
