Mikoyan Goes Wandering Around Ann Arbor Again...The New Scoreboards.

Submitted by mikoyan on

I apologize in advance as these are not the greatest pictures of the scoreboards but they are an attempt.  I'm gonna try to get them in the daylight at some point.  I would love to get them from the inside this year (maybe Ohio State?).

On a side note, I will be on the sidelines at the Eastern game on Saturday.  Wish me luck as this will be a first for me.

That's the gate to paradise. After the game on Saturday you and me and 113,000 of our closest friends will pour out of them to hit the AA bars in celebration!!! Go Blue!!

It looks like there are some gaps in the panels that need to be filled so that they dont leak light out of the back.  Was that very noticible to you personally, or is that a function of the camera exacerbating something that isn't as intense in person?

Mikoyan,

I read your profile and saw that you studied Engineering Physics at EMU and are currently a Reliability Engineer in the automotive industry. Were you able to get into the field with just your Engineering Physics bachelors degree or did you also pursue graduate studies in Engineering?

I am considering a career change and one area I am looking into is engineering but at my age (39 y/o) I would like to minimize the amount of time I spend in a classroom (and the accompanying debt incurred) and I think I could finish an Engineering Physics degree faster than a traditional Engineering degree. Could you offer your thoughts on the advisability of pursuing Engineering Physics versus Engineering? Have you found it to be a hinderence at all?

(Sorry to highjack the thread.)

The Engineering Physics route wasn't all that much easier than had I gone into a more traditional Engineering field.  The only reason I went with Engineering Physics was that I didn't want to transfer from Eastern after putting  couple years there.  I started with the Pre-Engineering route with the intention of transferring at some point.   Intention never met practice, so here I am.

If I were to make a suggestion, I would say that you go after the Engineering field that tickles your fancy because it's alot easier to convince someone that you are a Mechanical Engineer (for instance) if you have the actual Mechanical Engineering degree than some other sort of Engineering degree.  Although I did take most of the classes that would translate to a ME degree.
