Mikoyan Goes to the Big House - Part I

Submitted by mikoyan on

So I had the chance to watch the game from the field today.  It was my first time watching a game at the Big House from the field and I'll have to say that it was pretty awesome.  This is actually my third game of photographing from the field and I'll have to say that it a little tougher than I expected.  It was alot more crowded on the field at the Big House than it is at Rynearson (duh) so it was a little tougher to be where I wanted.  All in all, I had a blast though.

Anyway, these are my pre-game pictures.  I have to go meet a friend, so I will post the game pics later.  Enjoy.

Camera = Canon 50D

Little Lens - 28-135mm Canon that came with the camera

Big Lens - 175-500mm Sigma (f 5.0, I think)

If I'm going to take the next level, I need to get one of the bazooka lenses though.  I think my camera is fine.

Yes definitely the Canon 50D is fine. Renting a 300 or 600mm would probably be best. Beats paying the major dollars they are asking for it.  Look forward to seeing your photos.

Great shots!!  I know you were on field, but has anyone in the stands had any trouble getting in camera's with detachable lenses?  I have seen several people with them, but am afraid to bring mine for fear that they won't let me into the game.

I saw some dude with a camera and a huge lens on one of the upper concourses. He didn't appear to have any credentials, so I am guessing he is just a fan.

Did you let Swoop "take a picture" with your camera?  If so, then you were on TV.  When I saw that I thought it might be you since you had just been to 2 EMU games taking pictures.

And if it was you, did he actually take a picture? How did it turn out?
