This guy is an absolute clown. Did anyone listen to their show at all today? Not only would MSU "probably beat Ohio State in East Lansing," but "Craig Roh can't play," and "Rodriguez simply can't recruit." I can't handle Spartan Media.
Then maybe you should just stop listening to it.
I think OSU beat them at home 42-0. How did State do again?
Wisconsin wins @Iowa by 1 point.
OSU wins @Iowa by 3 points.
MSU loses @Iowa by 31 points.
Wisconsin beats Iowa by 1
Wisconsin beats Ohio State by 13
Wisconsin loses to MSU by 10
Now if only MSU had to play a game on the road...like against OSU!
I think next year we are going to appear to be just as fortunate as we have all of our major games except one at home.
Maybe, but we also had MSU, Iowa and Wisconsin at home this year. We simply need to raise our level of play.
a thoughtful concept, that.
Wisconsin and Nebraska are about equal. OSU is at home instead of away. NW is easier than PSU. Iowa will have a down year without Stanzi. The only game that really gets tougher for us is @MSU and maybe ND.
I agree that next year's schedule is relatively favorable -but right now I have a hard time seeing us go 11-1, "lucky" or otherwise. Last year's MSU team lost a ton of close games. This year they're winning them.
MSU also loses a huge chunk of their D, and pretty much every star on their Defense.. and they don't exactly reload like OSU does..
On paper it looks like a huge loss.....they have had pretty good depth and a lot of their 2nd team guys have gotten huge minutes this year: Dennard, Pickelman, Treadwell, Hoover, Gholston, Bullough, and Denicos Allen have all gotten decent minutes this year. I'm not expecting the transition to be seamless, but I don't think it'll be as bad as it appears to be. What I'm worried more about is the O-Line losing 3, a position that's been somewhat of a weakness as the season went on.
Are going to be as bad as some make it out. Significant, but not a complete rebuild. The bigger problem is the absolute gauntlet of a schedule the Big Ten stuck MSU with, that could deflate a team record more than it was even inflated this year by not playing OSU. You're adding more tough games next year than you missed out on this year.
Beat me to the fruit punch.
Turn off your radio.
He says that crap for ratings.
I stopped listening to him over the summer.
He is obviously pretty biased. I do think he brings up some obvious points though that we are often in denial about. Either way, the more we lose, the louder his microphone gets.
Come join in on the "Stale No More" thread.
The thread is now gone....sad face.
I was loving it. Oh well. I had my fun.
What am I going to do for the last hour at work now?
and the mod overlords had to remove it...
When he started making references that people hadn't ever kissed women, he pushed past the "it's time to cave him" point. Sorry guys. Didn't realize it was the same as the OP. Collateral damage.
I still don't get why people listen to that crap. It's very easy to avoid.
I actually find his commentary on the Lions refreshing. He doesn't allow for excuses that Lions fans (myself included) give every Monday after a loss.
I work there, not so easy to avoid.
He's just pissed that Sparty has their best season in half a century and will still end up in the Cap One Bowl.
And I stopped listening a few months back.
b/c I couldn't stand that brain rot gout shit. Please don't bring it here
if you put crap into something you can expect crap to come out...
I've been eating crap for months... and contrary to logic, food is not the end result.
I sort of thought I would click on this and the post would just read:
We suck right now compared to what we were. Thats all there is to it. And now we're complaining about Sparty fans rubbing it in. Take it like a man. We're being soft.
1) MSU Beating OSU - To say Michigan State, a 10-1 team that trounced us at our place would beat another 10-1 team from the same conference at home is not that crazy of a prediction.
2) Craig Roh - Even this board admits that Craig Roh hasn't had a great year. A lot of that has to do with the fact that we didn't have him down on the line for much of the year. But that doesn't change the fact that he hasn't been a particularly good player this year - just an average Big Ten defensive player. "Can't play" is strong language, agreed, but he had some high expectations coming in. I personally think he will meet those expectations in the future, but that doesn't mean he has this year.
3) Rodriguez simply can't recruit - This sounds crazy at first. He has brought in fairly impressive classes the past couple years, and this one is shaping up OK as well, which is impressive given the lack of success Michigan has had on the field. However, just to play devil's advocate, he's not recruiting on par with Florida, Texas, USC, Oregon, OSU, those types of schools. His classes are ranked lower than before he got here, and have decreased every year since he got her.
And most importantly, he hasn't recruited defensive players that have shown they can play (yet). They may show they can play eventually. (I know there are exceptions, I don't need a lecture on how sweet Mike Martin is. He's sweet, but the D blows.)
You racked up 17,000 points in 15 weeks and you are the first reply to every post I make. Do you do ANYTHING besides this blog?
that's how you got to 17000 pts so quickly.
Oh man, you got him good there. ICEBURN!
What does MSU beating us at home have anything to do with the comparison? MSU is a huge fraud that would lose to OSU by double digits no matter where they played. They've avoided 3 huge upsets by 3 lucky special teams plays and will get trounced by Alabama in the Capital One Bowl.
Wow this is exactly what a State fan would be saying about Michigan 5 years ago. "Michigan is a fraud. Did you see them only beat Ball State by 8! They're barely squeaking by and they would get KILLED by the Buckeyes." How the tables turn. Sucks.
You must be in a really sad place in your life. You are like the older brother in the Weird Science movie.
Loved Kelly Lebrock
is an absolute embarassment. He is one of the reasons why Detroit sports talk radio is a national joke. I would rather listen to elevator music or be water boarded in my own home.
Did I make myself clear on this one?
Nothing wrong with Detroit Sports Talk radio.. Jim Rome is pretty good!
I think the best thing about living in a city with public transportation is that there is zero chance of having to listen to some drooling apetard on sports radio...
