Mike Thornton official visit
According to rivals it looks like this guy is setting up an official to Mich. First I've heard of him, DT out of Georgia. I love D Tackles out of the south, but usually don't get much more than a passing interest. Anyone have any idea of we've got a legitimate shot at this guy?

The article states he likes UM and is strongly considering an official, but as of right now Penn State is his only planned official visit.

I posted this article I found on him a while back when I was reading the Atlanta Journal Const. sounds like a good kid....I would like him to be a lil taller, but he sounds solid

Here is another recent article....

"Stephenson’s Mike Thornton is just such a recruit. Arguably the best uncommitted prospect in the state and certainly in Atlanta, this 6-foot-2, 280-pound defensive tackle attended his first college football game EVER the weekend before last when he made an unofficial visit to Athens."

A 4* DT would be a huge get at this point.

from a who's who list of the South (assuming one can trust scout for tracking "committable offers"). But who am I kidding? DT prospect? YESPLZ

Generally you get a kid from the south with those offers and we may get a passing interest, but nothing legitimate. It would be nice to see him get on campus for the osu game. If the fans have the same intensity as for ND and its a close game you never know what could happen.

Stud recruit. I'd love to have him anchor our future d-line. Hopefully he comes up for a good game.

Probably don't have to worry about Penn State if they're going to land Sharrif Floyd. But battling against the South... tough.
