Mike McCray now no. 3

Submitted by Maize.Blue Wagner on

Mike McCray just tweeted that he has had to switch numbers, from 9 to 3. I assume this means he will not be redshirting, but perhaps will be on special teams, on the field with the other number 9 Drew Dileo.

Also, what's on the top of that jersey in the picture? Is it a practice jersey?

New Number. I had to switch numbers so now I got 3. The best available. #GOBLUE #TEAM134 #GoBlueDummies http://instagram.com/p/dc81fBElbA/

You can play MIKE at 6'4 its not common but it's been done. I still would have to agree though a move to an outside spot might be better. Brian Urlacher is the only guy I can think of recently who played MIKE and was close to his height. Rolondo McClain was great in college but awful in the NFL and he was taller.

For those of you who are going to complain about burning his redshirt to play special teams, would you rather we play starters like Countess there?

I'm all for getting these kids ready as early as possible.  With the caliber recruit Hoke brings in, many are clearly ready to see significant action during their second year so why not give them some experience in their first year.  Most won't stick around for more than 4 years anyway so why waste a chance to get them on the field.  The only ones who shouldn't be on the field are those who aren't physically/mentally ready such as OL/DL/QB.

My NCAA 14 roster is so fucked right now.

I got Cleary wearing #3, Smith isn't even in the game since I thought he'd redshirt but rivals doesn't seem to think so.

When is EA going to include the option to do duplicate numbers? I've been begging for it since I started playing this game and that's been over a decade.

Why must there always be a problem?

on special teams, we were without Brandin Hawthorne vs. South Carolina and Ace took one back. Hawthorne was solid on coverage for us imo.

Good to see he'll see the field.  This team needs to get some real depth on that field if possible; the recruiting should help fill in gaps that may pop up years from now.

for some reason since the migration (or whatever happened). Anyone have luck pulling OTA HD signal at tailgates? Thinking of brining my 27in LED up for the long 12+ hr day of tailgating for ND.

Seems a bit unnecessary, it appears they have more than enough viable alternatives in front of McCray (Gant, Clark, Thomas, Hill, Bolden, RJS, Furman, Hollowell, Stribling, Beyer/Gordon, Richardson, Avery, plus backup running backs, wide receivers.). Who knows, it could be that McCray has shown a knack for making plays in traffic. In which case, happy to see him on the field.

on this thread.  Obviously I'm too old.  In regards to the OP however, I understand the logic.  Time will tell, but the odds of seeing McCray on special teams has just gone up.

As long as you have power, using a 4G mobile hotspot and a laptop with slingbox is a great way to go.  Unless you have a dish you can bring.

Bring satellite radio so you can listen to any game you'd like. And when one game in particular gets real interesting, grab 2 beers and walk over to someone who has a big screen all set up already. Hand the host a beer, crack 'em open, and watch the end of the game you were listening too. Great fun, don't miss out on anything, get to meet some good folks, and no hassle of lugging your hardware around.

Good plan for sure. Issue is our tailgate on Berkeley will have a TV but i want to watch the day games from my cozy ass chair. Im no spring chicken so conserving energy all day will be a priority. We get to the tailgate at 7am regardless of kick time so its going to be a long day.
