Mike and Mike

Anyone listen to this show? Golic just referred to our dilithium powered quarterback as 'Denard Richardson'. Now, I know there are a ton of people who hate the "did you see the media screw something up" posts (i.e. Freep and Valenti/Foster), but I thought it was interesting given Golic's ND background and familiarity with the midwest (and ND opposition). "To hell with Notre Dame!"

whether Nate Torcier is going to transfer due to Richardson's great performance, or how many wins Rich Robinson is going to need to keep his job?

This whole situation depends on Denard Gardner's performance as a true freshman. If he can take Richardson's spot as the starter, Coach Robinson will likely move Richardson to slot back, and Nate might be tempted to stay as the back-up. But if Gardner can't steal the job this season, Nate will end up at UCLE or Stamford or any one of those California schools

They also said the last time these teams played and neither was ranked, the Cubs won the World Series

I didnt realize the Cubs won it all in 2007 and 2008.

In all fairness, they did state that before this drought, the last 3 of 4 years, the last time they played and neither was ranked was 1909. And yes, the Cubs were the defending world series champs but there wasn't a rankings system then either. Both were aware that it had happened recently though.

Ah, I see. It was hearsay. I had the Buckeye fan I work with come in today all Nelson Munz-like because he heard on Mike and Mike the last time rivalry was this lame the Cubs won it all. I ignored him, but saw this thread and passed it along

Figures, he couldnt follow along the context.

It would be great to see Denard have a big game and then, in an Ali-esque moment, say to Mike, "What's my name?" Since a great part of what makes Denard Denard is humility, it won't happen: at least the "what's my name" part won't happen. Hopefully, though, Denard will play a game on Saturday that does his talking for him.

I know this is MGoBlog, but not every single MSM mention of Michigan needs to be centralized here. One cool part of this blog CAN be that its participants and authors filter out irrelevant or useless Michigan material. One time somebody on here wrote Charlie "Weiss" instead of "Weis." Do you think that's worth mentioning on a Notre Dame blog?

Somebody on here is a little different than ESPN's flagship morning show featuring a bloated domer. I don't think threads like this are totally necessary, but I don't mind seeing incompetence pointed out in Michigan coverage on the national level. Certainly more worthwhile than another Will Campbell 'panic' thread.

Hey, I heard someone mistakenly say a Michigan Players name wrong and I want to start a new thread, but then I thought that I should make a thread about how many wins it would take for RR to save his job..Thinking about it, maybe I should make a Valenti and Foster thread because they want to wait more than 1 game to say we are good..Or even better, a Rosenberg thread talking about how he thinks the Spartans will go 10-2 while Michigan will only go 6-6...I think he is out to get Michigan

He's probably just being sloppy.  Before last weekend hardly any of them knew his name.  After this weekend everyone in the country will have it straight.  I feel something really good coming on in South Bend.

Mike and Mike are unlistenable, as are most ESPN Radio talk show hosts.

They're not as bad as Cowherd though...who plagiarized a Michigan blog drinking game
