Braxton not looking good.
Tennessee is not recruiting well just because they got 18 dudes
Braxton not looking good.
Please. He'll be fine. Remember last year when he like died in the Purdue game?
There was one time I thought his knee got destroyed last season. Maybe against Penn State?
Dude was super distraught.
Radio says they're putting a brace on.
I miss living in San Diego. Is Braxton really hurt, or just dinged up?
The trainer thinks it has something to do with his MCL. On an apparently unrelated note, his helmet did go flying and he looked a bit out of it, although that could obviously just be pain.
That's not good. On the positive side, it looks like he left without it being immobilized. Maybe it's just a sprain.
I just wish there was a college football team in town :(. It would be fun to have a local team to follow.
Miller just dinged, but he did look pretty upset.
back out...not sure if its worth it to me. Guiton is a more than serviceable backup.
OB will always live in my heart.
Wish him a speedy recovery. We wanna defeat a complete Ohio team.
I hope it's the kind of thing that lingers all season and doesn't fully heal until their bowl game.
I'd like them to have a taste of it for once.
2007- Henne couldn't feel his arm and Hart had a leg injury.
2008- Threet was out (not that it would have helped much...)
2012- Denard's elbow
It's about damn time they have an important player be gimpy coming into The Game.
important player gimpy for the game you say? You mean like John Simon being unable to play at all last year?
but Dingwell does not fling well...
They've got a well done 3-3-5. It can be confusing if you're not used to it.
How is that good defense?
the D had a good series or two...then Kenny has been doing a good number on them since then. SDSU clearly outmatched on both sides, although good move to bring in a new QB to try something different.
As much as I hate to admit it, Braxton Miller is like a damn cyborg. He was essentially left for dead after Purdue last year, then came back the next week like nothing ever happened. I honestly thought he was done for the year after that hit.
He's not a cyborg, he's a baby. He just overreacts to any sort of injury, making people think it's more serious than it actually is.
Can't say I'm heart broken.
My kingdom for the return of moderating
Holy shit, he didn't say he was happy about it, just not heartbroken. How many tears do you think the buckeye faithful shed when Denard hurt his elbow last year?
Depends on the degree if tear but he could be out for as little as 1-2 weeks or for the season if its a complete tear.
I hope you explain prognoses better than that for your patients doc.
Sorry, but haven't seen his MRI
Guiton looks like a bird when he does the clap.
They've got a third and goal from the 2.
Annnd that ugly game is out of its misery.
I have PSTD from the pre-snap clapping. NO SHERIDAN! NOOOOOO!!!
In other news, MSU's offense has pulled ahead 14-7 over their defense and into a tie for the season. STEP IT UP BULLOUGH!
Actually, their defense is up 14-7 this game...
How long can you expect to score more points on defense than on offense? Notre Dame is going to hammer them.
Post Stress Trauma Disorder?
Visualizing that is pretty funny
really needs to schedule some real teams. Their schedule this year is Charmin soft.
To be fair, when they scheduled this game Hoke was still coaching there and they were looking good. Also, considering the fact that they almost blow it against a cupcake every year I wouldn't risk scheduling tougher OOC competition if I were them.
Home was not at utah
Better slow down or you'll pass out before the game.
I don't really blame them for the schedule. They've played Texas and USC in home and home series recently. They can't help it that Cal has gone from okay to bad in the 8 or so years since the game is scheduled.
I just checked our 2015 schedule. Utah and Oregon State out of conference, which is pretty good, but we're going to Utah on a Thursday?!? for no good reason. I think that's our first Thursday game.
Pretty sure the Minnesota game in 2003 (Navarres transcontinental ) was aThursday game.
Friday night, I'm pretty sure. Moved because of a Twins playoff game, IIRC.
2015 is probably the worst non-conference schedule we've ever played and today is almost certainly the last time we play a ranked non-conference team at home until at least the Arkansas series, and that's certainly no guarantee to be a ranked team. N
Really? Utah and Oregon State are okay programs. They aren't sexy, but the combo is probably better than Notre Dame and Connecticut.
I'm more appalled by our conference schedule in 2015:
There are maybe two teams in that group that will finish the season ranked, including Ohio State. Either way, on paper that's an 11-1 or 12-0 Michigan team.
That's great news. Pack the camping gear and make it a 4-day weekend.
Now if they could somehow get it pushed back until ski season, maybe play it the week after the B1G season like we did for Hawaii a while back....
What motivation would they have to not have a Charmin soft schedule?
If the BCS formula took into account SOS. They should have left that alone IMO
They may go undefeated but if you don't have a couple signature wins SOS could bring you down. IMO big ten teams should schedule either one good program or two above average teams. I think they are scheduling Oklahoma or VT in the upcoming years.
OSU has Va Tech, Oklahoma, TCU, Oregon, and Texas as their key non conf game over the next 10 years. I'd like to have a slate like that myself. We counter with Utah, Arkansas, and Va Tech over next 6.
Ohio state is on 2 channels for me. Fml
SEC defense built with that speed!!
I cringed so hard when I heard that. Could Spielman be ANYmore of a homer?!?
Spielman's good when he's not calling OSU but he's appallingly bad when he calls them. It's like listening to a local radio broadcast.
SEC speed that doesn't understand how to wrap up. They still seem to want to go for the big hit and not the sure tackle.
Not the Spartan-dawgs (lol) but the real DAWGS! UGA BY 10!
Oregon is getting a cool 13.7 yards per carry on the ground right now in Charlottesville. If the trend holds, they'd be in danger of putting up 600-700 yards on Virginia and doing very little of it in the air.
Meanwhile, back in East Lansing, USF has managed to get to the MSU 32 or so. Time for their drive to implode somehow, speaking of trends.....and there it is, Evald is sacked and then they go for it on 4th and 5. Spartans ball.
CMU threatens to make M's win look less impressive. Losing 13-0 to New Hampshire.
Because of course
Just left that game. Couldn't even make it through a quater!
Also why is their 3rd string QB playing so much?
We did knock out their starting qb and rb perhaps for the season
Bionic leg time
How is it not motion when the RB comes forward and never actually stops before the ball is snapped?
Also how long does he have to be stopped? Is it a 'count'? I would have flagged them twice so far this game.
It's supposed to be a full second. Urban's teams have gotten away with that since Florida.
Guiton is also moving forward half the time before the ball is snapped.
These games all suck. It's a good thing Georgia-S. Carolina starts soon.
Woo wee, USF's WR have a case of the MSU's
Oh, and holy crap that MSU D is good
Speilman man, shut the fuck up
Stefon Diggs is really good.
I want Ohio to be at full strengh when Michigan beats them.
I also hope michigan is at full strength
I don't want kids to be hurt, but I don't want Ohio at full strength. This is football. Teams are rarely at full strength. Seems like we've been on the short end of the stuck in that department against them for the part decade.
We already are not at full strength. Hayes, Darboh.
Guiton has the exact same touchdown celebration as Denard
Anyone else think Guiton may actually be the better overall QB?
He's a better thrower.
He could be starting at a lot of major programs if he wasn't at Ohio State.
7-3 Dawgs. Nice opening drive for them.
I walked away for a moment only to come back and realize that ESPNU had thoughtgully dumped me into the Toledo-Mizzou game. The only takeaway I have from this so far, from what they have talked about, is that Jeremiah Detmer is a great field goal kicker and Maty Mauk somehow managed to erase a good chunk of Mizzou's rushing yardage.
Onsides kick too. Surprise
Holy onside kick...
A 17 point favorite over 'Cuse? Did I see that right?
Is anyone watching the UGA vs USC game?
Holy stop dropping the ball Georgia recievers...
4th down conversion though! 1st and goal now Georgia...
Damn big catch on 4th and long for UGA
Has Clowney done anything of note in this game yet?
Nope...Think he was dragging ass again on their opening drive (which, not long ago). Georgia would be smart to utilize the uptempo of which they've done, finding out whether last week was a 'fluke" for Clowney and co. of if they really are out of shape. It very well be the latter.
ESPN keeps telling us that he is in the best shape of his life. Lol.
Clowney, while most of it has been justified due to his play, strikes me as an extremely cocky individual. As such, it wouldn't shock me to find out he came Into fall camp out of shape, and simply assumed he'd pick up right where he left off.
he sacked the QB in about one second after the ball was hiked. WOW.
Central back in it, down 13-7 now. Come on and make our 50 pt win a little tiny bit more impressive plz!
Shaw rushes, Shaw gets sacked, and Shaw rushes again to get back to a smidge past the LOS. That was productive.
Still, Connor Shaw accounts for a little over half of South Carolina's 60 yards of offense at the moment.
Bad clock management by Rocky Long cost SDSU there.
1st sack of the season
Holy Face-Mask penalty.
Look Clowney did something. He pwned the LT.
South Carolina runs that qb draw way to frequently given Shaw's running ability
I kinda feel bad for Clowney...the firestorm from the media that the Smith hit created is so much pressure for anyone.
I mean he is a freaking DE for petes sakes, it seems like the media is expecting 3 sacks and 2 fumbles caused per game or something.
Agreed. He can't help that ESPN decided he should be the big story of the offseason. He'll get to 10+ sacks this season and everyone will act like he fell apart under the pressure.
He's incredible, expectations are nuts and he's double teamed on nearly every play
Apparently I'm rooting for them, didn't realize that until 10 minutes ago. I guess it's to bethe opposite of the hype-train. I like Mark Richt too.
Georgia scores again.
Clowney did have a nice sack though. Blew by the tackle inside like he was standing still.
And then he came out because he needed a breather and GA scored
Shorter versionn ESPN analysis: The only reason UGA jusrt scored was b/c Clowney was on the bench.
Not a great start for South Carolina. Down 17-3.
Connor Shaw is like a slow Denard, so basically he's not that great of a QB.
Missouri's MLB was just ejected for targeting.
Looks like Tommy Rees is playing for Toledo
Good drive by SC there to get right back in it
CMU throws 97 yard TD to tie it up.
the option. But osu is handing the start of the 2nd half to them on a platter with offensive penalties
How does one botch that snap. Terrible. Would love to get a close up of his face to see if it was Hagerup-like
...And Touchdown SC.
Wow. Special teams derp for Georgia.
A fumbled snap is recovered by the Gamecocks. They get it on Georgia's 18 yard line.
...and that didn't take long. One pass, six points....seven in a second.
GA punter fumbles snap, SC scores one play later..tie ball game
damn UGA...so much for that hot start.
That was a quick turn around
South Carolina right back in it. Tie game.
Georgia is driving right down the field again.
South Carolina may have faced 2 of the top 5 or so offenses in the country in weeks one and two. Georgia is a lot of fun to watch.
Baylor might score 150 on buffalo...
Central pulls it out 24-21! Also, I'm not sure where New Hampshire is currently ranked, but they normally seem to be near the top of the FCS. May have been a halfway decent opponent for a MAC team.
#8 right now. They would give a lot of meh teams problems.
South Carolina ties it up right before half time.
Going to be a wild second half, folks.
ohio's non-conference schedule only gets tougher next week, when they face a Cal team currently down 11 to Portland State.
Here's the South Carolina-Georgia snapshot at halftime:
3rd down efficiency
|4 of 7||2 of 6|
4th down efficiency
|1 of 1||1 of 2|
|9 of 13||10 of 13|
Yards per pass
Yards per rush
South Carolina is outgaining Georgia by a slight margin - about one yard per play.
That stadium is half full. IU's defense sucks.
Toledo will be fine in MAC season, but man, it's tough to win when you play @Florida and @Missouri in weeks 1 and 2.
Big turn of events, Shaw fumbles scrambling. Gawga threatening to punch one in again
Oh, and who here would like a replica of Todd Gurley?
Anyone else having btn2go issues? Trying to bring the NW game up on my iPad and it won't let me sign in
its been down pretty much all day. They just posted this on their facebook page. Should be able to watch online. http://btn.com/2013/09/07/watch-4-big-ten-football-games-live-online-ton...
This is why CFB is better than the NFL. Offenses our grandfathers witnessed are still being used.
Teams like Navy are what is right with the game.
the academies are as close to true "student athletes" as you'll find in D1.
Navy plays at Toledo and I get in free with student ID! I'm going to call Toledo gives up fewer points to Navy than Indiana does today.
Unstoppable throw god Simian strikes again! Northwestern up 17-0 early in the 2nd Q. Looking scarier as time goes on
Akron down 13-0 to James Madison. I'm not too worried about next weekend.
50 pts is pretty much guaranteed.
Georgia has some large humans running the ball for them.
UGA running all over SC, including multiple fullback runs.
Anybody else see a decent NFL future for Aaron Murray? I think I do. The talent and ability may not be top notch, though it's damn good, but if his head is right and he can put in work, I think he may have some staying power as an NFL QB in the next 10-12 years.
Dawgs manballing Cocks right now.
I'm tempted to make a prediction thread for how ESPN will fudge up coverage of our game due to this Georgia game going over. It's not even the 4th quarter yet.
"part of the tackle" now means falling down sideways into an already tackled ball carrier
Looks like a tough blow to the Georgia O-line...
Nice throw by Murray on the run...damn. Georiga up 10.
Does Georgia know what the word "defense" means?? Come on guys
SC just got Sherman'd.
The SC safety looked like he was standing still. Must be 4.1 speed from the GA receiver?
Northwestern is a good football team.
35-7, NW's QB's 22-24 and 3 TD's
Did Clowney get hurt?
Akron has Zipped back to take a 14-13 lead over James Madison
