Mickey Johnson down to five
This is the dude that is stronger than sasquatch, am I right? A good ole hogmaulie!
He also named UCLA as his leader in the article. An official visit will be key for our chances with him.
...from an article at Volnation.com.
“UCLA, Nebraska, Michigan, Tennessee, and LSU are my final 5 in that order. I’m going to take 4 official visits, I won’t take one to LSU since it’s so close. I may enter a 5th visit down the line but we’ll see. I’m up to over 40 total offers right now so it’s been tough to narrow them down.”
Interestingly, TomVH had this a month ago. It includes video highlights and a video of him benching 500 lbs.
ever hear of retard strength?
Prodigious, no doubt, but it was a 3-board press and he was wearing a benching shirt, this was not a RAW lift.
He has said before that he likes the idea of being the next Ndamukong Suh. I think he genuinely likes Michigan, but I doubt he ends up in Ann Arbor. Michigan has a tough time pulling top prospects out of Louisiana. We usually have to accept the sleepers/projects from the deep south.
That's the best picture of a #50 countdown in the history of man. S. Hopkins is my new favorite player and God bless you sir.
And I agree w/ Magnus on this post, M. Johnson would be Icing on the cake but wouldn't bank on him.
Does it help us any that his top-3 include all non-southern schools? That's usually out of the ordinary for high-profile southern prospects.
I'm sure it helps. He said he's originally from California, so he's not born-and-bred Louisianan. But still . . . high-profile prospects from Louisiana are rare at Michigan.
(Yeah, yeah, I know about Anthony Thomas...)
We were fighting the razorbacks for him, not the tigers.
I could have swore I saw his rivals profile posting something like a 2.2 gpa a while back. His gpa isnt on his profile anymore. Anyone know whats up with this kid and grades?
Edit: there it is - http://michigan.scout.com/a.z?s=162&p=8&c=1&nid=4256185
and it struck me as odd that someone would report such a low GPA to one of the recruiting websites. I really hope that it is supposed to say "3.2" instead, or one of the other schools could easily employ some negative recruiting and remind him of the Demar Dorsey situation.
since it was on rivals and is currently scout. However, a 2.2 core isn't too bad to raise. Also, we'll always have someone negative recruiting us. Ain't nuttin butta thang
I believe he is originally from Cali so that is why he is high on UCLA, but if I'm not mistaken they are loaded at DT. Also I read he is slow playing LSU, but they arent showing him a lot of attention. He would be a great get for Michigan but I highly doubt he ends up here, I would rather Jerigan.
A lot of people have said it will come down to UCLA or Nebraska.. since, as Magnus said, he's a California native and all. Apparently LSU isn't recruiting him that hard either, which is a little surprising.
Again, he's one of those kids that seems interested, but we probably don't have a shot.
Until we win.
