Mich/Purdue Predictions

Submitted by goblue85 on

Michigan plays its final road game tonight at Purdue 7pm BTN.  This squad has lost four straight road games and last road win was at Illinois on 1-27.   Burke and THJ need to step up and get this win and give us something to play for on the home finale Sunday.   Hopefully the stunning PSU loss will get the focus for the squad tonight.   We need to play with some pride tonight and will get the road win.

Last week I was going to post, but didn't, so I can't claim any credit at all, that I was predicting PSU beats us.  But I was in transit and didn't have time to type it in, so, I didn't, and like, although it came to pass, I'm not here to say, see I would have told you so.

Nonetheless...

It pains me to say, but I predict Purdue wins by about 10-12.  They hung with us last time here, they've gotten better (ask Wisconsin), and we have definitely gotten worse since then.  I think I've lost faith in the freshmen.  No, ok, I have.

can be a nightmare but I don't see that tonight.  Michigan is the same team that disposed of NC State, K-State, and Pitt in brush the shoulder off type fashion.  They have not gotten "worse," they have hit some bumps along the way but typically it has been due to a general lack of intensity and urgency.  Trey showed both of those things against Staee and the team took notice.  A number one seed is back on the table right now and this is the opportunity to truly right the ship.  Don't count these boys out yet man.  They will get it done tonight.

don't know what posts you were reading last night, but I think I was clear with my stance that Ohio had a damn-strong basketball team with a great opportunity to roll Indiana in Assembly on senior night.  I thought I made this position pretty clear ;)

It will be Michigan that jumps out to a quick lead thanks to a few early 3's. Purdue is down by 10-20 the whole game before getting it back to 4 with about 5 minutes left. Michigan pulls it out and wins by 8-10

I have a feeling this game will go very similarly to the Penn State game:  close throughout, sudden flashes of Michigan's offensive prowess offset by some uncharacteristically good outside shooting from Purdue.

I'm hoping that there's some resurgence of leadership and drive from Burke, THJ, and Morgan and the game ends differently.

And for the love of all things holy, can we please pull away from an inferior opponent before the 15:00 mark of the second half?
