Michigan/OSU Tradition - Visiting Bo, Ufer & Yost - Tonight at 7pm!

Submitted by James Burrill Angell on

I know this was posted earlier but it was in question form and not exactly clear. Would hate to see a bad turnout. A few years back a group of students and alums organized by the MichiganSuperfans group started a tradition of meeting at  Burton Bell Tower and walking as a group to visit the graves of Fielding Yost, Bob Ufer, and more recently Bo Schembechler, all of whom are buried at Forest Hill Cemetary on Observatory (across from Mosher Jordan and Stockwell dormitories).

The "Gravewalk" was traditionally held the Thursday before the Ohio State game but now that the OSU game is held the Saturday following Thanksgiving, that had to change. Accordingly, the new Gravewalk tradition will be on the Tuesday before (i.e. tonight!) at 7pm. Meet up at the Bell Tower. Jeff Holzhausen (the original MichiganSuperfan and the organizer of the event) has asked that, if possible, attendees bring candles and flowers.

If ever there was a year where the team needed to conjure the spirits of Michigan Football's past, this is it. Please try to show up, particularly those of you MGoUsers who are students or near Ann Arbor.

I just visited their graves this past Sunday with some of the guys in my fraternity. Bob Ufer was a brother of my fraternity when he was here and we have made a point for our pledges to visit the grave, along with Yost's since he is right across the path from Ufer.
