I bought this belgian specialty from the Anker brewery since 13oo's for x-mas decor and am killing it in honor of simms's trey and the team effort tonight. This ale is well worth even a seemingly lofty asking price. Damn, how come the belgians don't dominate in all things and yet commonly fail to qualify for the world cup. They rule in brewing. From the cork to the cage to the label to looking at the product in a glass...wow. It has a bit of the winter ale sweetness I usually don't like but this it a cut above and worth it on a special occasion, like beating Iowa on the road. HEll yaeh.

Got to love when refs don't understand their own rules. It isn't when the foul is committed, it's when they blow their whistle, which was clearly after the half had ended.
that the first half just ended... can someone give me a summary? Lost is almost done. Switched over on commercials, saw us make some threes. Checked the box score, looked like LLP hit a few in a row. Collapse at the end of half like usual?
Basically as you say...LLP hit a few, they ended up tying us on a couple free throws after time expired. Don't really know how they caught up there, except that we missed a bunch in a row. Sims struggled...missed several at point blank. Still shooting 52% but it seems like it's worse because of the drought at the end of the half.
I'll take the tie into the half on the road. Hopefully we can play the second half a little stronger start to finish.

I've been watching this game and I still can't figure out how we're losing. We're shooting well, rebounding, not exactly turning the ball over too badly, such a weird game.
Iowa is shooting well, but we are playing sub-par D for sure.

I'm not giving up on them yet for this game, but the problem I have is that there isn't one player on the floor that I think feels comfortable with the ball in a tough/tense situation.
The officiating in the BigTen has been pretty bad all year. I really hope they send these guys to some classes, eye doctors or something. I just don't understand how a conference could have such bad refs throughout the entire conference.

The worst part about this is that I can't even get all that upset about it because it means nothing (other than the obvious pride factor). The only way to the NCAA is to win the BTT. If they win a few of these, they go to the NIT, if they don't, they go to the CBI. What difference does it make?

A little out of context here, but I don't really think Beilein will get us to national championship calibur. I don't think that's what he was hired for though. I see him as coaching for 7-9 years, making 5 or 6 NCAA tournaments, being a consistent factor and not a joke. Then you bring in someone who takes the next step.

That goes to show that this year isn't really all that different from last year. Last year those things all seemed to work out, this year they don't. Obviously we didn't see the improvement we were hoping for / assuming, but I don't think they're necessarily any worse than they were last year.
I like to equate '09 UM hoops to '06 Tigers baseball. Everything fell into place when it needed too. Then you have '10 UM hoops and '07 Tigers baseball. Theoretically better teams than the previous year that just didn't have things go their way.
I just got back from the game and I'll tell you two things...
1) They were pissed. I don't believe I have ever heard a crowd boo that bad. But, they got just as many calls as we did.

I wish it didn't take extra steps to set my DVR (U-Verse) to record an extra 30 minutes. That 3-pointer to force OT was so exciting, but the realization that my recording ended in 3 minutes was so unexciting.
Pro Tip - Just schedule the DVR to record the program immediately following all live events, unless it conflicts with your scheduled recording of Golden Girls.
I have Tivo, (Old School, Loyalty) and anytime you schedule a recording of a live event it prompts you to select how much extra time.
Yeah, I should've known better - I do this sometimes (especially for football games... you'd think somebody would know how long those last, by now), but thought that I would catch up to Live and this wouldn't even be an issue.
Comcast has the same prompt for live events - that's one of the few things they have done better than U-Verse, really.

In what I believe was only the final minute of regulation he has a put back and 1, another and 1 off penetration, and arguably the clutchest three of the year to tie the game. All in ONE minute.
