Michigan wins 14th GLI
Umm...thanks for the update?
go easy on him... He's hungover
Man I wish I could have. Between Christmas, and moving my pockets are on tilt.
Hey, they fought tooth and nail for that win, don't discount it just because it was high-scoring! Plus they got to take the YTMSU banner down from the arena. :-)
Joe Louis does look better today.
Sounds better too. I smiled when I heard "Sieve sieve sieve, it's all your fault!" resonating throughout Joey Louis.
A bit of sloppy, 1970s-esque hockey going on there are points, but no doubt about it, it was an exciting game. Plus, a win over a WCHA opponent is critical for the Pairwise.
My favorite part, though, is that at least from now until the CCHA championship game, both of the college-hockey related banners in the Joe will have the proper name on them!
...and after the championship game as well! Go Blue!
Just a crazy, back-and-forth game, but the Victors prevailed.
However, our special have to improve. Big time, man were they awful.
14th GLI Championship!
Our penalty kill needs to improve but the one thing that would make this team alot better right away is if we stop taking the stupid penalties. Such as Rust's slash that was a retaliation to a hit or Llewellyn's slash/another slash/& a cross check. Especially the slashing penalty that Llewellyn committed while the ref was waiting to call a delayed penalty on CC.
Anyway I am glad we pulled that one out. GO BLUE!!
CC played hard despite missing a few guys. Michigan did well when the game was even strength...but CC has one of the best power plays in the country and it was on display last night. Our power play on the other hand....TERRIBLE, that has to get better if they want to win this year...
In the end, a win is a win. Also, being able to come when all the momentium is against you late in the game is a great sign of the potential of this team. You cannot win all the games pretty, so being able to win a game like this should help them down the line....GO BLUE!!!
Even my non-hockey family/friends were into this game. Also an important win for the pairwise. With some big weekends coming up,hopefully we can keep up the momentum.
