Every time we have a chance to take the lead we run a horrible offensive set!
Michigan vs. Wisconsin Basketball Open Thread
Hardaway's 2nd of the half, so be rules he's done for the half.
THJ just picked up his third foul. Wow.
Stauskas is going to be the most hated player in the B10 when Aaron Craft leaves.
it's ok to drive the lane, but kick it out you know when two big guys are in your face. don't chuck up a prayer.
Nik can do the same run again but pass instead of crashing the board next time :).
Not a good start, only down by 1.
Is McGary playing the 4 when Bielfeldt is in the game with him?
Down a point having survived the inevitable surge Wiscy would get off of playing at home.
On the road, we could be really scary.
played well without trey in there for that stretch, good sign to see that.
We need to take smarter shots than some of the ones we've chucked up there.
It's GRIII time!!
Michigan will get that rebound down low
Taking coaching advice from an anouncer is almost definitionally stupid. What is an anouncer but a failed coach?
Except for Doug Collins, he is a good coach and announcer.
A former player.
Come on - let's take the lead now!
I enjoy Manly Bielfeldt rebounds
But these refs are horrendous.
What was horrendous? The Horford block/charge looked wrong from our view, but we never got a decent replay. Regardless, we got the next call.
The only other thing I can think of was the borderline goaltend. Yeah the fan in me wanted it called, but it was pretty damn close and I can't say I'm sure it was moving downward yet.
Gene Seratore is one of the best - he's also an NFL head ref.
Legitimate question, since I get negged for every attempt at promoting civil discussion in a game thread:
Is it possible for the refs to not be terrible? In every game they are "horrendous" and whenever I try to reasonably discuss it, I'm treated like I'm trolling.
Trolling is going to an MSU board and stirring up shit. I'm trying to legitimately discuss something. That used to be the strength of MGoBlog - we were better than the lowest common denominator found at MLive and RCMB.
I'm not calling people out specifically, but the game threads lately have been a bastion of sophomoric bitching and aversion to reasoned debate. I know it is a game thread and emotion will normally trump logic, but still: Can't we hold ourselves to a higher standard?
Trey's not playing the smartest basketball this far, and if Ryan Evand wants to take 15 foot jumpers then please let him.
You know, Bielfeldt looks pretty good...
that pick and roll can be surgical sometimes
Interesting lineup with Spike and Trey
michigan was always in a bind with tim and grIII coming out simultaneously
i didn't even notice he was out, because i certainly haven't noticed that he has been in there the past week or so.
Ride him to victory.
take this game over
Burke needs to figure out what to do with less than 20 seconds on the clock.
That half was ugly.
That half was ugly.
EDIT: Sorry for the double. Have this to make up for it.
I could watch that all day long. It almost puts me in a trance.
Good half. A lead at WIsconsin at halftime is always a good half.
Some great minutes from Bielfeldt too!
Albrecht and Bielfeldt quietly played some quality minutes for us
i will take the halftime lead
Our end of game/end of half strategy is terrible.
It was a broken play off of an offensive rebound. Trey Burke lost his handle and had to put something up. Do you think losing the handle was part of the strategy?
Getting some quality minutes from Bielfeldt. After the slow start I'll take being up by one at the half. Need to come out strong in the second half.
Where is Wiscy's student section located? I hear them, but can't see them.
Our traditional horrible toss up before half-time went according to plan.
we've got a lead on the road in a game we were down 9 pts, I'll take it!
And a game where we're playing 5 on 8. When Dylan, actual journalists, and Inside the friggin' Hall are complaining about the officiating benefiting not Michigan, it's pretty bad.
But didn't you hear the ESPN announcers? This is a great officiating team!!!!!
Max and Spike gave some good minutes there, GR3 looking like a freshman again unfortunately.
Was it just me or did that half go by really quick?
i though the same thing- 40mins to play 20 is fast.
He was going towards the rim, but dribbled it off a Badger foot so pretty much had to heave.
