I should preface, I could care less if they have UM ties. Open the coffers and bring in someone that has actually proven it at the highest level: Pat Shurmur, Ray Horton, Hugh Jackson, McDermott, Bowles...I don't care. Open the piggy bank, bring in an attitude, and let's get this thing back on track. $$$ talks

...just another bad year to fire a coach.

You have no options. Once again it's Jim Harbaugh or bust. And you're likely going to bust again (although you'll have a better shot than the first time around).

There's no nabbing a Sumlin or Strong anymore, they're both in Texas getting paid crazy money. Petersen is gone from Boise and TCU isn't the same TCU anymore. No David Shaw, no one or James Franklin.

I can't think of one legitimate candidate at the college level.

Maybe Kirby Smart? Keep Nussmeier and trying to become Alabama North?

and I recall Rodriguez supporters facing the same question:

At what point do you stop supporting Hoke / admit this coaching staff is done.

When we fired Rich Rod, we whiffed on Harbaugh. When Lloyd retired Les Miles was coming to Michigan - then not - and we were to choice three or four when we hired Rodriguez. Sure fire replacements are never a sure thing.

So when is enough, enough?

I don't care about Michigan men. Screw all that stuff that hasn't mattered in 20 years. Look at who can make us successful while maintaining integrity and pay whatever you have to pay.

This much talent and you can't even get a touchdown at home against Utah? Rodriguez kept the game within 3 in our worst season against arguably Utah's greatest season.

I think it's officially time to prepare Sugar Shane as starter the week before and put him in at the beginning of the game. It's pretty obvious to the world how easy it is to completely disrupt our offense with #98 under center. With a legitimate QB and a wide open playbook we might not get embarrassed against inferior defenses. Thoughts?

The OL is horrendous and we'll have no running game or pass protection against team with even a medicore defense.  If there's any chance Morris will start next year, I'd put him in to get the reps.  Gardner is just not good enough - the smallest amount of pressue and he panics.  We'll probably be lucky to go 7-5 this season, so why not get ready for next season (it Hoke's still here I think we'll be able to win at least 6 games next year).

I played under coach Hoke and Carr.  We now seem to be a team lead by a WR playing QB.  The shot put passes today really got to me. I was one of the last to fall off support for RR.  I think I'm one of the last to back off Gardner. Our OL should jump to the next level next year assuming the OL coach and O Coord have some skill, which shouldn't be an issue at this level, with developing talent.  Our WR's should be there, while in  critical plays we seem to constantly disappoint.  I really hope we find a way to 9 wins this season.  Hoke is a good coach and knows more about college football then 99.99% of the people I read on this blog. Keep the faith. Go Blue. Always.

We have better football talent at almost every position than Utah and we lost terribly.  Hoke may know more about college football than 99.9%, but he can't convert that knowledge into victory.  He must go.

"Hoke is a good coach and knows more about college football then 99.99% of the people I read on this blog."

That's almost certainly true, but he has to know more about college football than the other coaches, and in four years at Michigan it's apparent that's far from the truth.  If you're satisfied with 6-6 or 5-7 seasons, then Brady Hoke is your man.  He did nothing at Ball State and next to nothing at SDSU (one winning season with a home bowl-game win over a weak Navy team).  Unfortunately, he's the best Michigan can get now - it's no longer considred a top football job.  We can't recruit and we can't even compete in the weakest major conference around.  Most U-M football fans have given up on this team and are looking forward to hockey and basketball seasons.  Maybe I'll check back in two or three years when this University gets serious about football again and has the talent to beat anything other than 2nd-division MAC teams.  This team is an utter embarrassment to the universtiy, the state, and the game of football.

Some folks on here just blogging or talking to themselves.  I don't get that.  There really is just nothing to say about this mess other than to query whether it will get worse before it gets better.

I am still a big MIchigan fan with season tickets......but the entire historical memory of Fielding Yost...........leading eventually to Bo..........is just history that is fading away more each week.

Support the kids, I do...but I cannot support this staff or the AD anymore. It is pure ignorance at this point.

YOU ARE DOWN 13 FUCKING POINTS AND YOU ARE JUST TAKING ALL THE FUCKING TIME IN THE WORLD TO GET THE PLAY OFF!!!!!?!?!?????!!!??

Incompetent is the only word fitting enough for that this football program has become, it is a shadow of the rich storied tradition that is Michigan football. I am a realistic fan, I know we are not in the golden age where I should just expect 11-12 wins every year, but I will be damned if I do not expect this team to show improvement every game and be competitive in every game they play. This is unrealistic with this staff.

I have been a supporter of hoke up until today, the buck stops here. I am done. I will not be attending any more games this season, I will not spend my hard earned money on anything that is branded by Michigan until this PROBLEM is fixed. I still support the players with all my heart, and feel for them that they do not have a more competent coaching staff directing and teaching them how to best use the God given talent and gifts that they have to their fullest extent.

Absolutely my man, you are right.  We need to hire the best coach.  The Michigan Man thing lost its meaning with our record and don't give me any of that support the kids BS, of course we do, this is about management (coaching and AD).  It's a terrible reality, but we will have to lose our 100K attendance string before Brandon goes.  I know we won't fire Brady right now, but he has to be a dead man walking, it's over.  Just a question of whether Brandon goes with him.  If we must have the Michigan Man thing, then it's a Harbough or Miles.  Otherwise, get the best fucking coah.
