Michigan vs South Carolina

Submitted by uncle leo on

Couple of 4-0 teams squaring off. Michigan is coached by a level-headed dude, South Carolina is coached by a raving lunatic. That's about as much as I know of SC. That and they haven't beaten anyone worth a lick.

Total crap start time- 5 PM. Blehhh.

But in terms of how I feel about the game, pretty tough road test. We are 3.5 road favorites, should be able to cover the spread. Hope they use the momentum from the 2k classic, great defense, nice flow on offense.

I love a 5pm start. That way I can start drinking at 5 with no remorse! Plus I still get to bed at 9. And for those bar folk u can watch the game and then go out boozing. It's a win win win. Go blue!

For noon games...being on West Coast, and middle aged, it's perfect. Get up, game day is already on and "noon" games are on at 9 am.

Today, not working..Hang some Christmas lights in 65 degree weather this am, and turn on M BB at 2 pm. Perfect.

I also appreciate the reminder that the game is coming on later. There are plenty of crappy posts to rail on. I'm not nit picking this one.

Actually, I like the 5pm start. Leave work, grab a six pack, order some food and sit back and enjoy watching DJ Wilson posterize some dude. Then it's over by 7.

Ignoring the quality of this thread, this will be a pretty touch game. South Carolina started the year 15-0 last year and barely missed the tournament. They're probably a tourney team this year, and playing them for our first road game of the year will be tough.

They're pretty similar to SMU in terms of play. Big team, slightly larger than SMU, who can rebound really well especially offensively. They also have similar scoring splits to SMU before our game, but they've played a very easy schedule. We held up well rebounding wise to SMU in the first half and then struggled in the second half. This will be a good test for us.

South Carolina was a pretty decent team last year that played no one in the non-con and got exposed a bit in conference play, but would have made the Dance if not for a loss to UGA in the SEC Tournament first round.

I do wonder how much of a crowd presence they'll have with many students potentially having already left for Thanksgiving break.  OTOH, this and the game against Clemson are their only home games against P5 teams, so maybe the AD has implored students to stick around.

Kenpom predicts Michigan to win by 2.

Heading to the game in a couple hours. I haven't seen the MBB team in person since the early 00s, so I am looking forward to it. Would be fantastic to go into the weekend with a shiny 5-0 record!
