This team is infuriating to watch. The awareness on transition defense has been a joke tonight, and why can't we recruit ONE big man who can finish from within two feet of the basket? Talent wise, Purdue should get killed by our guys. This is getting really, really old, and I really don't enjoy watching this team piss away lead after lead. Beilein may be a good coach, but he blows dick at getting his team ready on the road.

This is life on the road in college basketball. If you expect epic demolitions of teams in their own building, you'll be disappointed most of the time. KenPom picked us by six points. I'll take a win by any margin.
So will I, but I still can't understand why a team with this much talent has dropped its last 4 road games in a row and is playing no better ball (so far) in this game than in those losses.
No, this is not "life on the road." A road environment makes it somewhat more difficult on the players. It doesn't make them forget how to play fundamental basketball. OSU kicked Indiana's ass last night, and we can't hang onto a lead against Purdue. Stop the stupid excuses.

OK, those last 5-6 minutes were pretty brutal, but don't get too stressed out right now. Basketball is a game of runs. Trey Burke has four points right now. It's a safe bet he'll have a much better second half.

we need Caris' defense much more than we need Nik's 8-10 points. I think Caris more than makes up for that with his own scoring + his better defensive pressure

Some of the other stuff - we have 9 defensive rebounds to their 14, and Purdue has seven turnovers to our two. The big thing here is being 11-34 from the floor. Maybe not surprisingly, the majority of the box score stats are more or less comparable.
