Just got back from the game.  The refs were awful but we still played stupid.  Game was sold out but the atmosphere was just O.K.  No students for senior night makes no sense.  But I'm kind of glad I didn't have to watch the game on TV because I'm sure the commentators had a Robbie Hummel droolfest.

Damn people... were 21-8, 11-5 in the Big 10. It's one loss and were going to get a good seed. The crowd wasn't that bad coming from someone who was at the game, what do you expect with about 10 students being there?

I hate to play the silver lining guy, but this loss isn't the worst thing to happen, especially to Purdue tonight.  They played well, very well, whether one wants to hear it or not.  Painter had us scouted and his team ready to take us on and it showed.

This game makes some of you think we'll get eliminated first round of the tourney?  How about the fact that the way Purdue is capable of playing (tonight, for a random example!) could get them to the Sweet 16; glass half-full outlook but it's true.  Yes, Michigan could do themselves some good by fixing a few things in the coming weeks, but this is still a team that's beat Ohio and MSU: possible 1 or 2 seeds.

This loss showed that our GRITTY guys are capable of being outworked.  I can't think of a better way to motivate these boys heading into March.

I was there.  The atmosphere wasn't as bad as people are describing it, but we definitely missed the students.

Purdue just plain outplayed us.  That was probably their best game of the season - 50% shooting, 47% from downtown, 14-16 from the line and only five TOs.  We have great difficulty stopping their guards' penetration for whatever reason.  It was true in West Lafayette as well but they didn't shoot as well that night.  At the other end, their D was stilfling.  They threw multiple looks at our pick-and-roll and flustered Burke at times.  I think Purdue is just a challenging matchup for us.

.....and just when you thought it couldn't get any worse, word is that Byrd skipped the bus ride home to check out a couple of watering holes in AA and beat up one of our bouncers. Come on....

I was there too and the crowd was fine. Not the loudest ever but it was plenty loud. There were numerous times the crowd tried to give energy and I noticed in particular because the students were gone. As someone said, it was just an off night, and it showed right from the start.
